Poker related my biggest win was a year ago in Manchester, when me and my brother both final tabled a tournament. I knocked him out afterwards (ouch!) but managed to chop it in heads up... He cashed but I gave him also some money of my winnings.
Quote from him: At least my chips went to a nice guy...:)
Won a "Guess the number of sweets in the jar" competition once, when I was about 7. I made the mistake of telling my friends that I had lots of sweeties though, so they didn't last very long, and I didn't get many of them, either
I love your analysis of hands on here. However, i play NL4 at the moment and it's really hard to put opponents on hands or analyse anything properly because people will LITERALLY play any two without thinking about it - so if they're not thinking then surely we can't analyse them?
Would you say ABC poker (be aggressive and value bet for fun) is best at these levels, and what level do you think (on Sky) the play starts to become more about analysis and mind games? (Cash games btw)
Good evening Miss Fowler and Mr Rutter. Looking forward to watching tonight's show. On the question of what's my best win, poker wise it's The Open and non poker wise it's a pool tournament. I was on holiday at a seaside resort and won a holiday back to there for the final of the pool tourney. I came back and made the semi final where I was beaten by a lady who was playing the professional ladies pool circuit. Good times. Best wishes. Shaun the Villa fan in Bham
Hi Anna and Stu, You like photography Anna. do you have a fish-eye lens? They are fantastic and give a great boost to your interest. they are expensive so maybe a fish eye 'filter' is best. (They make straight lines curved, just in case you didn't know!!!) Stu, i love your explanations as they are so logical and informative. Probably my best prize wasn't football or golf trophies as they came from hard practice and training. The best/most surprising prize was winning my first live poker tournament at a casino in My home city, Liverpool, i'd entered after just joining SKY POKER and reading Harrington's vol 1 in 8 days. As the final table was being shown online i texted my girlfriend who watched for a while before falling asleep and missing my coup de gras!!!!! I'll never forgive her(just joking). Cheers Steve aka profman15 PS I'm still smiling from watching the show of Carlo analysing your play. Great fun but i think Carlo needed a lie down in a darkened room afterwards!!!
I won a goldfish from a fair for my then girlfriend once. She couldn't have pets in her house so I had to keep it in mine. I thought that's fine, they never live long
Then we broke up and it's been over a year and the fish is still alive! What the ****? I thought they only lived for like two weeks. I've spent a fortune on fish food... well £2 a month... but still!
Oh well at least I got to call it what I wanted to call it... 'Fishy'... 'cause I'm so imaginative.
having just busted out of a lower stakes version major online tournament (i wont mention name of it) but what advice would he have when you have a genuine had v an opponent that means the dynamic of the hand clearly becomes leveled. Expessially when greater than 100BB deep in the early stages.
Best thing I ever won was some 24 years ago when I was a young and unruly student living in a house in Ealing, London with 4 of my mates. I had met a young lady from Manchester who was 5 years older than me and a bit of a looker. I invited her down for the weekend, and as boys will be boys, had a small wager on the outcome, if you know what I mean, of the weekend. I successfully won my wager, a whole £10. I have been paying for that £10 ever since and we have now been married for 16 years.
not poker related : CDs and my fav band DVDs when i was a kid on the live local radio show. radio borders. Won £10 on my first lottery ticket for my 18th birthday off my aunty i was well happy.
Poker related: when i first joined sky poker last month i played the new player freeroll on a tuesday night won £12.50 and throughout that same week i gradually built the bankroll up over £20 without depositing any money to my sky account.
I always enjoy a show with you 2 especially with Stuart Rutter as he is a very knoledgable guy and a interesting watch and also he is a fellow brummie ( i hope he is a villa fan lol ) where in bham are you from Stuart?

My biggest win was on Friday night just gone, when not only did I get all 5 numbers plus both bonus balls on the Euromillions Lottery, I was also one of the 18 picked out in the Millionares raffle.

Thanks,
