Bankroll management ( guarentee against busto )

Okay, i'm planning on playing a few of the mini main events from now on in and play NL10 cash.

How many buy-ins should i have for each, conservatively thinking. Please note that i will be playing the mastercash tables on occasion so please bare this in mind.

I was thinking 40-50 buyins for cash (i.e. £400-£500) and 100 buy ins for mini (i.e. £330). Will this be enough? Shoudl i sit out when mastercash tables become 300BB's deep with this roll?

Any advice would be brilliant.
Thanks.

BR management ddoesn GTE non busting. It just prolongs the lenth of time.

Personally to ride variance without bothering you i rekon 100BIs is best,

i'm aware even if you have an edge that there is always the possibility of going bust (granted it could be as small as 1 in 1,000,000). I was just wondering what others would recommend.

Surely £1000 is unneccesary for NL10 or am i missing something?

Ok so for the mini main events what would people recommend?

Yeah assuming you're a good player, £1000 for 10NL is pretty ridiculous. I'd say you can play it with £250 upwards, but if you wanna really be on the safe side £400-£500 is plenty!

And yeah 100 BIs for the mini is probably fine, but I believe the mini is a different price each night isn't it, dependent on how big the BI is for the ME?

    40-50 is fine

20-30 is ok too.  It depends on what you want from poker/how much the money means to you outside poker/how many tables you play/what kind of style you play.

If you play fairly tight and only 1/2 tables then the lower end is fine.

Just use common sense really.  From your previous posts I'm sure this won't be a problem :)

probably going to have around 45 buyins (i.e. £450)

Is this enough to play the odd mini main events too, surely?

    Thanks for advice everyone.

I used to play NL10 when i had 50 quid in my account, the way i see it is, i rather take chances with a small BR since i could easily bounce back, and leave the nitty bank roll management until i have a big BR, as the losses might hurt.

So basically 10-20 buy in amounts in cash NL10 and go from there, best thing you can do is move away from the micros as quick as you can, if you play 50 buy in at nl10, you might be there for a long time needlessly, its your choice though.

I think BR Management is a personal preference and is totally down to number of tables you play/your playing style. Noone can say you have to have a certain amount. TAG playing 1/2 tables i think even 20 BI's is safe. If you're a bit more prone to putting moves on people then i would say more like 50.

the mini is only £3.30 - £5 and if you have a good cash session on nl10 and just double up on 1 table that gives you 2-3 mini buy ins for free is how i look at it. Think of mtts as a treat and the cash games as your bread and butter.

depends what you want to achieve at NL10

stay at NL10 and skim the profit each month or is it a stepping stone

    40-50 buy ins for skim

20-30 buy in for an aggro BR step up to NL20

    run good

tight and solid then 30 buy ins will be ok

nice profit each month at NL10 would be nice, however, i'd look to step up if things go well at this level over a large hand sample.
