This hand is from the THS Donkathon. I'm not a very observant person, so no specific reads, but I had previously seen some unconventional play from the villain once or twice.

Will the villain turn up here with QQ, JJ, TT or air often enough to justify a call or is this an easy fold? I wouldn't expect too many random 4s to call pre and I don't see too many suited club hands calling twice to bink a backdoor flush. The line taken makes sense for 56, 77 or 44 , but there aren't that many combos.

With this strong line I guess KK is really just a bluff catcher? Is a call here reasonable or is this a snap fold?

Wierd line he takes for it but I'd say he has FH of some sort with 77 most likely. Certainly think on paired and 3 flush board to a shove your KK is quite likely just a bluff catcher as you say. He C/C two streets and shoves a river is normally either the nuts or a missed draw, and as quite a few draws got there think you are in trouble.

price he's getting pre will be tempting with lots of small suited connectors/ small pairs.

Don't see him having many overpairs in his range - would have expected these to mostly 3 bet pre,  and dont see any real reason for him to get deeply involved with so little invested without flopping a big hand/draw.

I think your hand would be very unlikely to be good.

    HI Giant
Feels like he's got the nuts and 77 is a good guess to describe his play.....you've done your best but he's still hanging and now gives the big bet. Its time to fold me thinks as too many draw outs have caught too....cheers

Thanks everyone. I had a gut feeling I was beat, but in the 20 seconds I had I couldn't figure out how, so I called.

Should've listened to my gut as the villain had A4o. FML.

Certainly wouldn't be super happy calling off here.

Most overpairs like 99/TT/JJ most likely check to you again on river, them now randomly shoving would be rather odd.

Although unlikley, 56 got there on the turn, also 77 a possible maybe even random overs cards that picked up FD on turn and now go for max value scared you might check behind.

Overall though you still have 23bbs left which is more than enough to come back with.

Looking back I agree I should've folded, and if I had had more time I may have figured it out. I think the the 3rd club threw me off, as in my mind the villain represented the flush, and I couldn't figure out how he would get to the river with 2 random clubs.

Now where is the 'KK never wins' thread?
