Welcome input on how I played this. Is there a line that costs me less, or is that missing the point?
No real reads, dont recall being involved in any big pots prior and player not been overly active. I was playing higher than normal as unable to multitable - so unsure of regs, but recognised screen name either from lobbies or forum and assumed to be reg. rather than random

When the flop bettor checks to you on the turn, I think you have to bet here to get value from 9s and 9s with flush draws. If I got raised here I would think I wasn't really beating anything. As I could hardly ever see them raising me here with anything less then a set or two pair.
On the river I don't see much value in betting in this situation. I cannot see them having a Queen or Jack that isn't two pair or a set considering they overcalled on the flop. When they bet you are only really beating a bluff in a situation where it seems very unlikely they are bluffing given the the play the hand played out and their bet sizing on the end. It's tough to fold though given the pot odds. Sonetimes you do have to fold, even though you are getting good pot odds, it is tough though. Don't be too hard on yourself.
If you had of raised 3x pre flop you could have lost a little less. That's an advantage of 3x, aswell as losing less if you get 3 bet and fold. But overall I think you played the hand pretty well.
