HI folks,
Just thought i'd flag this up to get a range of views...
FLOW...Well, the opponent had played a couple of weak hands earlier i'd noticed and had a bit of a go at someone raising all-in to win blinds a couple of times so he seemed a little tilted, IMO....maybe he just fancied using UTG as the new hijack position.
I decided to min raise planning to either take the pot, see a flop or raise his all-in.
He calls but i want to keep the pot relatively small. All-in by him would see me fold but small raise gives Q, K, A to catch, i feel.

He AI's after Ace on turn and i call with hopes of his having AQ, AK,AT. In fact, i thought that i was ahead unless he'd slow-played a premium pair or TT for a set.

The Q9s was a surprise but i guess my suspicions were founded.
What do you feel of this thought process and what would you have done differently?

To be honst, i've been playing too passively at times especially in later stages so it was on my mind that i needed to change gear a bit. Actually quite pleased as i 'final tabled' for the first time for a while with just one piece of +ve variance!!! Its surprising how a bit of end-gaming boosts the senses, eh?

Mind, watched the vegas final last night afterwards...brill!

Yes poorly played... Shove preflop here every time. You only have 10bb and a hand that you really want to see all 5 cards and so a 3bet is quite pointless, as it pot commits you anyway at this point. So shove and get it over with.

If as played you had shoved the flop I'd have forgiven you, but C/C is really blah... As above you want to see all five cards with this hand when 10bb deep so ship pre, or ship the flop as played here as you can't fold really.

10bbs pre means you have to shove, 3bet small just means you get into a spot where you might end up folding postflop, obvz here you were never folding but if you hit and oppo doesn't like say he somehow flats with JJ and flop is AKx he might fold and you get less value.
