The site I currently play on gives me 2 poker points for every $1 rake, and as far as i'm aware sky offer 10 points for every £1 in rake? Am I correct? If so, are there any strings attached? Or am I just being an idiot playing on the site I am..

A raked hand is defined as any hand in which you are dealt hole cards and a minimum of 1 pence in rake is taken.
You will also earn Poker Points for buying in to any Multi and Single Table Tournament. You will earn 10 Poker Points for every £1 in entrance fees paid, for example, if you enter a £10 + £1 tournament, the £10 is your contribution to the prize fund and the additional £1 is the "fee" that you pay. This means in this example that you will earn 10 Bonus Poker Points. All loyalty points earned will be credited to your account at the end of each hand or tournament and can be viewed by going to 'My Account'.
*Also as of the 31st January, the following changes to buy-ins on cash tables will be in effect:
The minimum buy in on all regular cash tables will increase from 10 Big Blinds to 20 Big Blinds, the maximum buy-in remains at 100 big blinds and the default buy-in offered to the customers increases from 40 Big blinds to 60 Big Blinds
E.G. On a £0.25/£0.50 cash table, the minimum buy will increase from £5.00 to £10.00, the maximum will remain at £50 and the default offered increases from £20 to £30.
You can still manually type any amount you wish between the minimum and maximum.

It's not the amount of rake paid by you on cash tables.Any raked hand that you are sat in at the table counts towards the 20 raked hands whether you play the hand or not.
If you are dealt card's in a cash game and fold but other players go to the flop(i.e. pay rake) that counts towards the 20 raked hand's needed to earn points. That goes for every body sat at the table who were dealt cards in the hand. So if you are a LAG or a NIT you get the same points.
Ok, well I made a deposit on the other site on the 19th March, this year, and since then, I've played 157,252 hands, which is over approx 2.5 months. So, to calculate what my approx c4p monthly would be, is this correct:
157,252/20 = 7,862
7,862*6 = 47,172
47,172/2.5=18.9
What have I done wrong? lol because according to that I'll be receiving £600 odd each month lolol
Not every hand will count as raked i.e. if it does not get to the flop. And as i under stand it (i don't play alot of cash but have read else where ) if you played 19 raked hands on 1 table then switched to another they do not carry forward but re-sets to 0.
Read the last bit about switching tables getting less points on TINTIN'S Beating the Unbeatable.Might be worth a read and they play alot more cash so might be able to help with your questions.

thought it was my thread you were reffering to.
yes we are hindered where i play at nl4 when it comes to earning points, but as you move up the levels it changes.
i experimented at nl10 for a few days when the widget first appeared. at nl10 you earn 3 points per 20 raked hands and i thought that i would get the 3 points once the 20 hands had finished. i was keeping track of the widget and noticed they were going up in single points and not a block of 3, so i reckon they were paying out the point of part qualified hands. ie coz it was 3 points per 20 once 7 was played it payed out the point, another 7 then another 6.
i am speculating a bit but it definetly wasnt going up in 3s

I think you have your wires crossed? Sky take 10p rake for every £1 pot
EDIT: i may be wrong. I just play and get on with it tbh
