I think the best bet with Dohhhhhhhh is that he is a phone in guest tho. It's very unlikely he will travel to the studio, i believe he has been asked several times if he would like to go on the show by Sky and declined for his own personal reasons.

He did one of the phone-ins and it was the best I've ever witnessed
I think Ryan is a great addition to the Sky Poker team. He's clearly a winning player, with a strong understanding of the game, and there are many recreational players on this site who could learn a lot by listening to his advice (particularly regarding bet/raise sizing).
Just to respond to a couple of specific points: Yes, all the hole cards are displayed, but good analysts (and I include Ryan in this category) don't allow this to influence their commentary. And Ryan has to make it all up as he goes along, as he doesn't have the benefit of autocue. I'm the one who gets paid to read off a screen :-)

Ha, thanx JPW.
Recently I've contributed a couple of times to an informal online group poker HH discussion in a group chat situation.
Even explaining basic low stakes concepts/thought processes to (online) friends, in a relaxed, environment has proved to be alot harder than I expected. Some things are really tough to explain in a way that people in the group will understand.
It's no doubt 100x harder in front of a camera, where you can't say "oh f it I dunno, move on" mid hand!
865 hand analysis is alot better nowardays. gd job analysts.
Couldn't agree more, consdering Scotty/Ryan is mere poker player like the rest of us, I think he does an astonishingly good job in front of camera and personally find his analysis very inciteful and very useful.
Put me in front of as camera and ask me to talk about poker and even if I had Ryans level of knowledge, I can't imagine even doing a quarter of the job that he does.
When Redmond was first put on the show he exuded a natural confidence, something which Ryan, along with 99% of the rest of us,didn't necessarily have. To be thrown in at the deep end on a five hour live show with no script and a whole lot of ad-libbing is no easy task.
However, Ryan very quickly and clearly worked hard at his onscreen game and now seems perfectly at ease on camera and able to talk at great lengths about a hand. He's a presenter's dream frankly, as you know you can fire a question at him and he'll give you tonnes of good stuff back.
And moving away from his delivery for a second- his actual hand analysis itself is superb.
For me, the number one thing that sets the likes of Ryan apart from other players who come on the show (who may have won every major poker tournament in the world) is that he actually plays on the site like you and I, and so knows exactly what's it like from a Sky Poker player's point of view.
And of course, he's the living proof that you can start small on the site and rise to the top by putting in the hard work, and what's more, he appears on the show a few times a month to tell exactly how you can do the same. And the advice is free-of-charge.
I agree with the masses that Ryan has been a great addition to 865. He gives great unput on the hands as to the reasoning behind his decisions and I enjoy it that he is much more honest than some.
He might not be as 'bad' as Luke Schwartz but when someone does sometihng terrible, he points it out and explains why it's so bad rather than just saying 'umm, that's probably not the best play there'.
P.S. Would love to see Dohhh on 865 too but sadly I think the chances of getting him on the show are probably worse than me getting on it lol.
scotty77 is the new trevor harris but less concise. he appears well-meaning so i'm going to give him a chance. i think he likes twix biscuits more than poker if i'm totally honest. we all need a release though so fair play to the lad ! if people are really unsure they should pm tikay because he was around at the dawn of the industrial revolution and remembers poker before twix ! Funny that, he keeps a multi pack in the glove compartment of his car. I had four on the way to SPT Newcastle one time.
personally i think that scotty is a great asset to skypoker, with multiple layers to him. He has great solid biscuity poker fundamentals that he has honed from years of playing on sky. He also comes off as having a very smooth, almost caramel-esque persona, especially when paired with anna fowler. I have met ryan irl many times, and he always comes off as such a sweet person, it's almost like he is covered in a thin chocolately layer. All of these attributes are wrapped up with a shiny golden smile.

I hope you dont mind me admitting to being someone whos been involved in some of these discussions.
One thing i will say is how JJ explains everything is fantastic. One thing i really like is mid hand i can say this was my reasoning and he'll respond accordingly. Obviously this would be much harder for the TV to do because we dont wana share a worlds worth of information on reads with the entire nation.
As one whos spoke to JJ loads id love to see him on the tv. Perfect amount of poker banter with the odd bit of wind up and other banter. And someone who can take a rubdown or two.
However i dont see it happening.
Ryan is a very good anylist imo, things he says are fantastic, couple of hands from tonight he explained brilliantly, in particular the hand lol_i_call sent in i felt he spoke this brilliant. I had a different view point from mel on how the hand was played and i asked mel to make sure that was brought across when posting it, so that Ryan knew why she was. He understood both the line id have prefered Mel to have taken and the line she did take, and spoke of the benifits of both.
I actually believe the show with Ryan, TommyD and Jakally was one of the best ive ever watched. The hand anylisis on that was phenominal. Please put these 3 together again.

1979: Twix is introduced in the United States. 2012: Scotty77 travels to the United States to, " play in the Main Event of the WSOP " Coincidence ? Of course !
It's a pretty tough job commentating live, but also playing under the microscope. Particularly as I wanted to learn from it but at the same time not wanting to expose a consistent playing style to everyone watching. And I end up on a shark-infested table but still need to give the viewers something to watch.
As for those two hands - folding the AA full of KKK was easy. The previous time I had been asked to appear on the Sunday show by phone (after winning a Sat night Survivor) I managed to bust out before that segment came on air. The last thing I wanted to do in the first few minutes of Sunday's show was to dump most of my stack. The way he had played didn't rule out he held the case K, so I just called - losing value but remaining on the TV for longer.
Then the J9s 3bet oop. Well I had been appearing a bit nitty - particularly ater the AA fold, so I threw in a curve ball just to confuse those who had thought they were starting to work me out. It didn't cost a lot and was an easy fold therafter - well worth it for adding some confusion to those trying to deduce my play - targetted at the other players but with Scotty77 as collateral damage.
So I feel sorry for Ryan having to interprete these hands without knowledge of these other factors. I thought he did an excellent job, a little confused as to my play in those two hands but without knowing everything behind them.
And what have I learnt - mainly be careful on bet sizing - don't throw away value - and pay attention to any opportunities to win a few chips (ie blind on blind / on button when it's checked around etc). Thanks guys - maybe enough to see you in Vegas next year.
