The only hands you should be getting it in preflop with in a DYM at this stage is AA and KK. You have one of them and can't do anything different here.

No offence but if he hadn't have hit his 2 outer, you wouldn't have posted this. It's just a horrible beat but I think you played it pretty perfect. I might make your 3bet slightly bigger for value but not a huge problem.

    Thanks for your feedback lambert,

yeh your right I prb wouldn't be posting if they held, but to be honest i'm more interested in the basic DYM principles of not getting it in pre-flop this early on. I've found this evening playing a little more of them that if you play your basic ABC you will cash more often than not and was interested if this was the right call as it was the only time this evening I did go in pre-flop and only time I didn't cash (granted 5 games is a stupidly low sample range)

As I said, you shouldn't be going all-in in early stages with anything less than KK or AA, but you cannot fold either of these hands.

Some may disagree but I think you HAVE to call with KK, and you were crushing him, the fact you didn't win/cash was because he hit 1 of his 2 outs, not because it was a bad call.
