That it was done on an exchange basis? Ie. earn 500 points, you will get £5, but lose all of your points?

There's no need to be like that, points have feelings too. Every point is someone's child and deserves to be respected. This forum is not the place for you to openly attack and criticise points, there are forum rules you know......

Yes, thanks for that MyZo. No doubt I will have a moderator on to me pretty soon for daring to criticise their system, as I did when I questioned a fault in the software. As far as I'm concerned, this is a forum for all players to ask about and discuss anything to do with using the sky poker site, not purely for praising it.

It's a monthly total, so once you are paid,it's only right that the totals are reset, otherwise you'd have a 500 point headstart on the next month.

Yep, and swapping points for cash is a non-issue. Never really thought about it until I read this thread. Lambert is right.

What exactly do you think SKY are doing wrong? You get paid for the points you made that month they are not expected to pay for the same points twice or three times.
I think you might be confusing the C4P with the other poker points in your account which you can buy into some freeerolls. These do not reset each month.

It's the same on other sites, you get given poker points in which you can trade in for cash and then the points total returns to 0

Ive been posting this week on a similar topic. My poker points ie those at the top of the page were reduced by 500 and i wondered where they went and several poster told me that poker points and C4Ps are the same.  But when you use poker points to play freerolls they reduce by the amount charged to play but C4Ps dont reduce so how can they be the same.  Are poker points ie the ones used to play freerolls with reduced at the end of the month by the amount you have used in your C4Ps  ie if you have 500 C4Ps at the end of the month does your poker points reduced by the same amount

The easiest way to think of it is...

You earn poker points and C4P at exactly the same rate, so a game that gives you 10 poker points for your C4P, also gives you 10 poker points to play freerolls with. Spending points on freerolls won't reduce how much C4P you get.

So you got 1 total (the one near the bottom of my account) which is your total earned, and another total at the top which is your total earned, minus freerolls you've played. It can get confusing cos this total seems to accumulate points month after month, I think this is because when Sky deduct points for your C4P they only deduct the number of points at the highest threshold you can crossed (I think!)

Yes, according to an official response in an email by Sky, you lose 500 per threshold crossed, which means if u earned 999, you should keep 499 (I think)

But in answer to a couple of other "points" raised above

    1. It's not the same with all poker sites. I assumed it was similar to Pokerstars "Stellar Reward" system. Ok, you have to earn far more points to get a measly $10, but it costs just 1 point to redeem the reward.

    2. Not quite sure about the point about C4Ps being different to regular FPPs. They don't seem to be. It strikes me that you are far better off playing in the freerolls, especially the ones which use up more FPPs. If you used up all your FPPs before getting the cash bonus, would you then have a minus number of points??

So the total poker points shown on 'My Account' page can only be used for freerolls and not able to be converted into cash?

I dont understand what the issue is.  What are you gonna do with the points if you "keep" them?

But if anyone prefers have the points rather than the cash, then the can just opt out of C4P.

I am more confused than i was when i first read this post lol. All i know is i get paid for my C4P and i have 12000 other points somewhere which i have never used and mean nothing to me .

Sorry MYZO i know all points are created equall but obv some more equall than others.

thanks for your reply.  This is the first time i have seen in print that you lose points when a threshold is crossed.  Must be what happened to my points
