i have just finished watching tikays story on 865 and i feel really small. for years ive lat bad beats get to me and because of my size, its often got ugly [ even going as far as throwing a man out of a window and getting barred for life from my local poker club]. online, where people can be as abusive as they like, my moods and replies have been even more extreme. but after hearing what tikay had to say about his childhood and all the problems that came with it, i feel embarrassed. i will never let one outers and mouthy players get to me again. after all, its a game best played for fun. thanks tony.

I've no doubt that you will now enjoy the game more, probably play better yourself and certainly allow others to enjoy yor company more.
Hope to see you at one of my tables...say hello. Cheers....
Did you really throw the poor chap out of the window? Oh dear!
I'm not really sure how or why that docu got made, but I'm glad it did, so many people tell me it has helped change their perspective on handling a bit of adversity in life & poker.
The thing with getting uppity about poker bad beats is that it does not help us enjoy the game, it does not help us play better, & it does not help us win - it's totally negative.
Some things in life are absolutely certain. Bad beats in poker are one of them. Every single player gets them - but some just cope with them better.
We can point fingers at other reasons all day & night, it's was the "idiot" that made the bad call, the software, the weather, the missus nagging, whatever. But we are kidding ourselves if we think that way. Bad Beats happen to EVERY single player, & if we play enough hands, they will happen to us every single session. They just will.
But, remember old Charlie Munger (Warren Buffett's partner, & Charlie & Warren knew a thing or two about life, & making money). Always do the obverse trick, look at it upside down. For every bad beat, there must be an outdraw......Now, if we ALL get bad beats, who exactly gets those outdraws?
Thank you for the Post Sir, I'm honestly moved by such comments. Like the bloke who "fell" out of the window.
