Timed tournaments - slow playing

Hello all

Just wanted to discuss an observation I have made over the last couple of days on Sky relating to tied tournamnets.

Slow playing.

I'm not going to list names here but there seems to be more and more people slow playing in timed games. When I say slow playing i'm talking about letting the timer run all the way down then folding a hand. I assume people are doing this because they want to pay the blinds as few times as possible. I think this is especially noticeable in the last five minutes of a game.

Have other players noticed this or am I just looking too deeply into this? What can be done? Would Sky reduce the time players have to act?

Having seen a few other posts on here regarding family health and things I completely agree that this is not a big issue in the grand scheme of things but is slightly annoying.

Thanks
Scott

Unfortunatly this is the nature of timed tournements. Sky already has one of the shortest clocks around and no timebank like on other sites so if they want to use up their clock to make a decision then that's up to them. Complaining about this is like complaining that on a DYM bubble players will shove any two from the small blind in a blind on blind situation if they have more chips. It's just part of the game. If you don't like it then play proper tournements or play cash

Slow playing is annoying, but it's within the rules and seen in most types of tournaments. You're just gonna have to live with it and adapt to it, nothing can be done to stop it.

Strategy tip; a stalling player is usually playing very tight, ie trying to fold their way into the money rather than gambling for a bigger amount. That makes them a good target for shoves or raises when they're on the blinds.

The time bar is there to be used. IF they take all the time then fold its up to them. It is annoying yes but oh well.

I have to say i've bubbled so many tournaments where I've had a better than average stack and gone up against the chip leader with aces kings and queens and lost through variance.
If I'm within ten of the bubble i'll use my time to the full, allowing others with lesser stacks to go out first.
The object of the game is to play to win.
I pay the same tariff as everyone else and I'm not slow playing to upset anyone, I'm playing to make the most of my position.
Sorry if it annoys you, but we all play our own games and make decisions for ourselves its what makes the game so fascinating!

Only time i use the timer is in satellites when i am very short

in timed mtts, im looking for ways to chip up, so im never personally doing this!

each to their own tho, they are not breaking any rulez!
