well guys as u know i made a post a few weeks back askin what i should do with a £120 roll . after thinkin it thro i decided to play 4nl , this went well untill this weekend were i lost a lot i started the weekend with around £240 and today my roll stands at £103 :( , i did play some £10 heads up and lost them all *(was probley around £60)*, and the rest went on 4nl :S , now i realy enjoy playin 4nl but with this little roll i can no longer play that level multi tabling 9 at a time . i feel i could carry on doing it if i wasnt runnin as bad as i am , its makein me scared to play my normal style of game bcoz i am gettin hands cracked left right and center , i have also noticed am makin a few mistakes here and there , i also dont want to play any less than lets say 7 tables bcoz i find i get bored fast and start playin all kinds of hands, so now am back asking u guys once again what u think i should do and how long do these bad runs last haha i started today thinkin all would be better but got off to a bad start, am thinkin maybe play 4 cash tables and 4 to 6 double ur moneys at 60p or a £1 :S..... tbh i just feel lost and realy have no idea what to do

forgot to ask .. what do u guys think about short stacking 4nl???

From hearing comments from other players on the other thread you started last week about you being a good player i would say your best bet would be to stick at what your good at but just play a few less tables until your br grows again.

Play 4-6 tables instead of your usual 9 and if it dosnt start too well drop it down a bit.

Main thing i would say though is to not panic and be trying to get it all back too quickly.

Just play solid and the variance will iron itself out.

    Good luck.

take a few days away from it all.

ive lost a bit of motivation myself at nl4 and it usually comes when the losing streak kicks in. theres no telling how long it will last but if you let it play on your mind then you will make more mistakes.

you still have enough to rebuild, the game will always be there even if you take a few days away.

i wouldnt advise short stacking tbh, you do miss out on a lot of value

    hi jsavo,
with just over £100 and with confidence low,i would play a few micro dym,s probably £1.for a few days.
this will take you away from your normal cash playing and it should help you.
i went through the same thing and it certainly worked 4 me.
you never know, you might even win more playing dym,s and end up staying there.  lol
    i did.!!!
    gl m8,
i know you will come back even stronger after this little downswing.

My advice would be to take a week off. Only play poker on Zynga or something. Then when you come back loan yourself £60. By that I mean deposit £60 and when you feel comfortable withdraw it. I've seen you play at NL4 and despite a slight case of FPS (fancy play syndrome) you seem to be a solid player. Regarding the £60 you lost playing heads up remember BRM. Playing heads up SnGs beyond your roll is a very easy way to try and recover your losses. Unfortunatly even the best players don't have that much of an edge in these games and 50 or even 100 buy-ins is considered the norm for people wanting to grind them. Playing way out of your bankroll in a format your are not as familliar with, you'd have probably been better off putting that £60 on red or black.

A -8 buy-in session is to be expected every now and then. Try to limit them by setting yourself a target for how long you're going to play and a stoploss limit. Set yourself a goal of playing 9 tables for 4 hours. When you hit that time stop. Don't quit early if you are way up, don't keep going if you are down and if you ever end up down £20 at NL4 then stop playing for the day.

I've been in this place before and it sucks. You keep doing the same thing as you have always done and instead of making money hand over fist like before, you just bleed money everywhere. Unlike most other sports or hobbies the trick is to just keep doing what you've always been doing, not to try and change up.

Stay away from the heads up SnGs in future. They are a very specific skill and the varriance alone requires you to learn a whole new zen-like anti-tilt psychology

I have come across you on the cash tables and at dyms, you seem a solid player.

Bad runs are part of the game, when they happen to me i just cut back on the number of tables, drop down a level etc....every person deals with bad runs differently but if you stop enjoying the game maybe have a few days off?
