Race to the Royal Flush

**The Race to the Royal Flush is currently CLOSED and is being reviewed**

Hi Everyone,

Have you ever had a royal flush? We get on average one Royal Flush for every 318,000 hands dealt on Sky Poker. this is about 1 every 2 days. Now is the time to start hunting those illusive Royal Flushes. Why?

We have a new competition running here on Sky Poker. 'Race to the Royal Flush' sees YOU, the community, race against each other to win your way into the SPT Grand Final. Here's how it works..

If you're dealt the first (and only) Royal Flush of the week (starting every Monday) you will be rewarded with entry into a main event of their choice for the following week. You MUST post your Royal Flush (including the HAND ID) in this thread and we will verify your hand and enter you into the tournament of your choice.

Rules:

- Only the first Royal Flush each week will be credited. If someone gets a Royal Flush on Monday at 00:03, the competition will be on 'cooldown' until the following Monday when the race begins again.

- You must hold 2 of the cards that make up the Royal Flush as your hole cards.

- Excludes Omaha.

- YOU must claim your own Royal Flush. It cannot be claimed on behalf of anyone else, nor can anyone else claim it on your behalf.

That's it, get to the tables and join the race!

    Does it start as of now? and if so, does it mean that the week runs Thursday to Thursday?

    Yep, it starts right now! This first week will from now until Monday, then we'll reset and run from Monday - Monday.

    i have had a royal flush on here before but didnt get anything for getting it whitch i think is a bit mean for getting the best hand in the game In Response to Race to the Royal Flush:

    This royal flush is from 2011! 

    It only counts for hands dealt from the start of the promotion as stated in the original post!

    hi sam.. great promo

    having two of the royal flush cards in your hand is a 1 in 21 chance.  if a royal flush occurs on sky on average once every two days the prize will be won once every 6 weeks. 

    still a good prize for us.  my gift horse wants me to win.

    Hiya, just to clarify- does the hand have to get to showdown?
    ie. if you flop a royal flush and everyone folds to your raise- does that still count?

    Great promotion idea; good luck everybody.

    FWIW I've got a feeling there won't be many valid claims for two reasons;

    1. Rob (Aussie09) makes a good point, the two hole-cards requirement will eliminate many of the royal flushes.

    2. The majority of players don't visit the forum and will therefore be unaware of the promotion. Personally, if I see anyone at one of my tables make a royal flush I'll send make them aware of this thread and tell them to claim immediately.

    You guys already claiming; please post the hand history!

    Sam,

    Gary and Aussie make good points.. A RF with both hole cards AND you have to posr, I am thinking there will be weeks which will be devoid of winners..

    Fancy expanding it to any str8 flush with 2 hole cards and the highest str8 wins i.e. Royal.

    This should ensure there is a good chance it will be won each week and, of course, allows my str8 flush hand to be in with a chance for this week...
