If you were playing the WSOP Main Event...

.... how would you play it and what would be your 'target'?

Would you play tight we the aim to last as long as possible? Would you do the opposite? Would you just play your normal game? It will be interesting to see what people think.

One day you might get the chance to put it to the test!

Thanks

I would play it different to how i did it last time :) #brag

Last time (2008), i was inexperienced/nervous... I played many pots with marginals early and i was defo the fish at the table, found myself dwindling away... eventually shoving 15bbs with QQ into A7 and the Ace hits....

If im fortunate enough to get another go, how i play will be totally dependant on my starting table. If there are weak spots, i would exploit and play aggressively, but if there are a couple of good pros with position then id have to tighten up a bit.

Towards the mid stages if i was lucky enough to make day 2/3, i would defo up the agression and try to as much as possible to accumulate a large stack with agressive resteals and stuff. Basically, i would go ftw.

Good Luck to all involved this year... I Have a feeling one or two of them will do a big bink! here's hoping!

I am hoping to play next year, as my BF is going next year at that time. I will just play my normal game and play for the win.  No point going to min cash just go for the win.

Quite clearly, the only target you should be aiming for is the bracelet for winning.

Where does this reputation come from? He's played the Main Event already and even bigger than that was at the SPT Cardiff final table!

I'd play tight and take in the experience and atmosphere. I wouldn't pass up hands and spots but i'd definitely tighten my ranges for raising and calling. Mind, i wouldn't really expect to cash so better players may put the heavy weight of expectation/hope on their shoulders.

TBH, i'm not really a gambler whatsoever and just look upon my poker as trying to learn a skill and have a bit of a laugh. Life is about balance and fulfilling your Bucket List. Grinding either on the internet or, as Doyle Brunson had done, playing 12 hours playing cash for each of the last three days is not what i want my life to be. I wonder if they have a life away from their monitors or the baize. Is the divorce rate higher amongst professionals, i ask?

Thank god, i'm poorer than average........i'm so relieved!!!!
