Hi all,

I'm in control again! Yes, I'm finally back in the driver's seat, with Jen Mason providing expert navigation through Sky Poker's No Limit Hold'em tables.

We're live on 861 from 7pm - and also on Sky Sports 4 from 10pm. The agenda...

1900 Live coverage of a £750 Gtd Timed Tournament (register HERE).
2000 The Poker Clinic. Please send in Hand IDs for analysis.
2100 Sky Poker School. We discuss "kicker issues" in cash games.
2200 Top of the Pots.
2300 Highlights from the £12k Bounty Hunter (register HERE).

Plus, we'll hear from tikay in Las Vegas and we'll run an on-air competition (details to be announced on the show), awarding a seat in next Tuesday's £5k Open.

Also, please have a think about the following topics...

What will be the next big thing in poker? We've just had the 'Big One for One Drop' at the WSOP, with a $1m buy-in and an $18m+ top prize. Where does the game go from here?

Do you have any habits or routines that you consider to be perfectly normal, but freak out your friends/family? On last week's show, I confessed to always seeking a female opinion before buying clothes. This revelation totally baffled Anna! So, what's your story?

Yaaaaaaaaaay....... Jen's going to be on my telly box again!

Oh...... and James is on too, meh!

    Have a great show both.

Next big thing, I think Mixed Games are going to get bigger and bigger over the next few years.  There seems a trend for top Holdem players moving towards other formats with the realisation that the fields are 'softer' since the overall standard in Holdem has improved so much over the last few years.

I see this continuing and opening up bigger opportunities for the less well known formats and mixed games, which in my opinion can only be a good thing for poker in general.

Cue Greek_Way and his Omaha blog ;)

The next big thing in poker IMO should be a multi site linked championship to rival the WSOP.
It has to happen some time! Surely the best want to compete against the best and the prize noney would be phenominal! Perhaps ending with a televised live final table, methinks

Good stuff from Slykllist and cleansweep.

    Keep 'em coming!

And I've just been advised that tonight's competition will be another of our world famous*, ever popular** caption contests. The photo is currently being selected...

    Evening James and Jen.

Hopefully the WSOP will allow Sky Poker and other reputable poker sites to start satellites into next years charity event.  If these satellites start let's say next month a complete novice could be sitting down like the 28 pros and 20 businessmen did this year.  That would be mind blowing to think you could win $20 million + USD.

I also read that The Asia Poker Tour are think of running a $5,000,000 HKD event for High Rollers, again for charity.  It would be good if charities like Cancer Research, Parkinson's, MS etc could benefit from the Poker community.

So could these be the next big things in poker?

    Hmmm...next big thing?

Sadly, I think the next big thing in poker is going to be legislation where all the players will only be able to play with other players from their own country :(

James- you're looking very pretty tonight in the analyst seat.

Rich- you're looking really rough, I'm afraid.

Hang on...this isn't a repeat of our show, is it? Oh my, it's live...

    I have a caption:

"Man with umbrella hat plays poker"

My creativity is what makes me popular.

The next big thing in poker is going to be the International Stadium Poker Tour (If that's what it was called). It's a wonderful idea and is clearly going to happen soon. I have no doubts at all... none.

Have a great show, James and Jen.

    next big thing in poker

I was reading today about a "live" mtt at Wembley stadium, which is scheduled for 2013...

30,000 people total where they play down to 3,000 people using electronic tables, and then the last 3,000 will play on the pitch... 600 euro entry.

dunno if this will actually happen, but it sounds amazing!

    James and Jen,

Looking forward to the show tonight - playing the £750 timed tonight so hopefully will win enough to enter the BH at 8. Also wanted to say Jen you are looking hot tonight!

Caption Comp "The rain at this years Royal Ascot ensured that the side event was packed with stars. Look there's Ben Affleck sporting a natty hat"

    Cheers Craig

    TT hand ID.

    Flat or shove river?

In a normal tournament, with these stacks of course I shove.

Honestly don't know how this format should effect my decision!

    Thoughts?

He c/c down multi way hand 1 in a limped pot with 88 on Kxxxx wet board, the aggressive action is like, woahhhh?

    Hi guys.

Would of norm played the hand the way you said and i would love to say it was player dependant and i new he would call 3/4 pot but fold pot lol but the truth is i was on the phone and not really taking much notice :)

Glad you approve of the flat!

check back flop and turn on wet Q9xx  because it kinda smacks his defending range, and as he's passive he's much more likely to check/call hands that beat me than bet them

If I am ahead and he calls with worse, his worse hands are still likely to have 40% equity v me, 2 overs to my 77 with a flush draw, etc and given how shallow the tournament plays, I thought I'd take the pot control line and try to maintain my fold equity for the later stages.

    Thanx for the feedback :)
