homework for ukipt

i have recently sat,d into newcastle for £22. i believe myself to be an average player but a bit fishy. i played this tourney last year did ok got to day2 and ran into a monster. what i want to know is what good books/ training sites are there out there to do a bit of homework. just read harrington on hold em 1 found it good but outdated for todays aggressive game. would appreciate any advice. cheers.

defo improve every day.  but i would say don't worry, you've done well already, if you play the same way you are more likely to continue your success.  no radical change just because you've been successful.  in fact, quite the opposite.  imo.

Hi

I am a very average player and managed to sat into UKIPT Nottingham in a live sat at DTD for £56

I started on a table with EPT Grand Final winner Pieter De Korver, 2 or 3 very accomplished live players and 2 or 3 very good "Internet" players.

Nearly every pot was 3 bet and most were 4 or 5 bet. I found out on day 1 that I was often outplayed after flops, Pieter De Korver told me my c bet sizing was a little small and I found on day 2 that by upping my bets to 3/4 pot they generally got respect.

I kept all my raises to 2.1x and I always minimum 3 or 4 bet, I even managed to get Andrew Hawksby to 5 bet fold (I 6 bet with AK)

Had a big discussion with Ian Senior (Macmonster) on day 3 with 50 left and to avoid being outplayed after flops we were jamming all in with success.

I finished 39th and Ian made the Final Table coming 8th

There is a blog in the blogs section, may help but as the others say play your normal game and don't be scared, if you find yourself outplayed after flops then don't allow them to!!

cheers dave i read the blog earlier today wd m8. thanks for advice i will definately use it as i found this was one of my leaks last year. first hand in i slow played AQ on button and got raised. i called queen high flop. i check got raised then re raied then got put all in. tank a bit and eventually fold thinking at best i chop. lost 40% of chips for playing scared. other player shows AQ.played properly i cud have taken it down. cheers.

just because it is an ukipit dont assume that every player on your table is a good or winning player (they wont be)
