Very good idea. Needs to be introuduced on most/all tournies but for half hour IMO.

just noticed this and im glad you have introduced it. 30 min is ideal too. Some sites have 60 or 120 min and that imo is way too much 30min is perfect. WD sky :)

NO NO NO, I HATE late registration. It is good for no-one.

Can rodger federor just 'buy-in' half way through wimbledon? Can England just join the euros a little late?

If your late then ul buy in to the next torny.

Don't like it at all. Especially on deep stack tourneys where the late registration lasts an hour :/

    Pretty sure this isn't true.

It's good for those who would have missed the start by 5 - 10 mins and still want to play.
It's good for those already in the tourney, as it potentially creates a bigger prizepool.

5-10 minutes yes ok especially for the big tornies.

But otherwise makes tournaments last too long and will attract people who wanna come in at higher levels and shove. People should have to play the more skillful poker at the start IMO.

If you are going to have late reg for 10 mins you might as well not bother. Late reg is great for increasing prizepools which for skys daytime schedule makes the mtts much more attractive.

As for late reg encouraging people to shove why not? And explain why after joining the 4pm bh during the first break and getting aq first hand with two limpers into the pot, I shouldnt open shove with 20bb. Needless to say I get called by someone who has sat there for an hour and now has 13bb, who with 56suited and flops a straight, it works both ways.

+1 it builds the prize fund and for those who played from the start then you have a much bigger advantage if you come in late and just shove with any two then surley your only gonna be calling them the same as if someone who shoves thats been there from the start. Makes no difference and certainly dosnt give late entrys an advantage.

10 min is way to short and pointless 30 min is perfect any more than that i think is not so good.

If people want to play 20BB poker I say tournies should be created starting mabye with 20BB or something. Im not saying they shove with any 2 im saying you have to play their stack and 20BB is less skill than 100BB and you could loose to them by playing decent poker and suddenly they have been playing 1 min and your on the same amont of chips as them.

Also everyone knows when the tornies start and for all the smaller tornies there is usually another round the corner.

Also tornies run longer so anties would need to be brought in or youd be sitting down all day for a min cash.

i think its a rubbish idea, if you miss the start then tough luck, its unfair on the players who started on time. if your that keen to play make sure your on time

    ditto

often late from work, great that i can get a chance to enter and try to catch up
also will help to build the pot, which has to be good news
and means greater choice of tournies to consider when you fire up the lappie.

You are totally missing the point. Sky is a relatively small site with limited player traffic especially during the day. One of the ways of offering its players increased prizes through mtt's is to have late player registration. This is endorsed as far as I can see by the majority of the players on the site. Sky is one of the few sites where players have an input on new developments and they have to be commended for this positive step.

From memory you are not a UK based player, perhaps we should change our currency to euros (not that its worth anything!) to suit your requirements? If you do not like what sky are doing there are dozens of other sites you can play on.

    Late reg, bravo sky!

This emboldened portion is a little bit jingoistic for my tastes and I'm not sure what difference it makes where the chap is from but I concur with the rest of your post, ACEGOONER.

The argument that late registration is not fair on the players that buy-in from the start is most certainly flawed, and he's how I would explain it:

If you buy in at the start and pay £50 for 100BB but someone who buys in at the first break pays £50 for 20BB, who is getting more for their money? There is no advantage in being short stacked, so anyone buying in late to a tournament is disadvantaging themselves. They may be willing to disadvantage themselves because they want to get involved in the tournament but that's not something you should complain about. They are increasing the size of the tournament prize pool but are giving themselves less of a chance to win it than you.

You say I am missing the point, but I think you are missing the point.

I am saying I dont like late registration, If the majority do Im not saying I will leave sky I am just stating my opinion. I also know that sky is tiny compared to others so this could be a good way to get increaced prizepools, but as of yet I dont think I have seen a torny that hasnt broken the GTD.

Also how long are the big tornies gonna last now? Are there going to be antes?

And I dunno why you think Im not english probably coz I once told you I was from profitville, btw its not a real place lol!

Late reg is great its avalible on most sites, sky where lagging behind on this IMO.

If im playing 4 tournaments i might pick out a 5th one that i want to play. Now i dont want to play 5 tournaments at 5 different stages, i'd usually expect to bust early in one of the 4 i currently have. Now half an hour into my picked tournament i bust from the other event ill still reg into it and ill play it. Does that mkae me a bad person? Surley those who've been in from the start want me comming in a shoving lighter and they snap me off with a better hand and increase their stack and have an extra buy in, into the prizepool.

    BRING ON THE LATE REG
