My forum voice is back, so here I am.

But in the meantime I have decided, for various reasons, to reduce my play on Sky. Was going to take a complete break, but I'd miss you guys & gals too much. Besides, how would I know how well it was improving here if I was not playing. The forum & Tikay are awesome, looking forward to the rest of the Sky Poker experience reaching the same level.

Was planning to try out another site, just to compare and contrast, but have not done so. Instead will try to play more live, and recover a few evenings for the rest of my life.

Great challenge threads, best of luck to you all. GaryQQQ, has dev nicked your mojo? You two seem to take turns at running hot or cold. All you real lifers, & dazler, hoping things are as well as they could be, considering. Kalie, I'm trying to Batkin88-ise my play a bit, as your style is clearly additive to mine. We shall see if I can pull it off.

All you Tikay elves, awesome performance on the Vegas thread, and congrats/commiserations to the Vegas mob. Oldboy in particular, not sure I could have matched your performance. but there's always next year.

Good luck on the tables all.

GELDY

    Thanks MrBurns4,

The comments in your thread helped precipitate the situation last week. Not your fault of course, but it's amazing how things can escalate so quickly - poor old evilpingu. But please, no comments on that topic on this thread.

As for the live play, it's started well with a cash (just) in a 2-day tournie last weekend. Let's see how it progresses. Normally I don't have enough free time to play live, but the timing is good for the next few weeks. I hope you're right.

Ah yes idonkcallu, that was me. It's a fine line between big kahooonas and a big leak in the bankroll. Fortunately my bubble at least paid well, if not a seat to Vegas, and congrats again to the winner Oldboy who played phenomenally over there, particularly given that he has never been a live player!

Well done on your cash. I will be reading with interest as I would also like to play a lot more live games.

I am pleased my thread did get so much construtive postings as without discussion nobody can ever move forward.

Maybe you will inspire me to be less lazy and get out to more live events lol

Quid pro quo. Played 3 live tournies this weekend. NLH1 36/111, PLO8 card dead throughout on an active table, NLH2 cashed 6/69. Sky played the forum donkfest and a little Sun night happy hour cash. Playing down a level or two as I've removed most of my bankroll.

And no connection problems - although my cocktail was a bit late in arriving on Sunday evening.

Now get off that **** of yours and do the same.

Cashed again tonight live. So that is back to back cashes. I used to be a winning live player before starting on Sky, but it's clear that with my Sky experience my play is an order of magnitude better than it was. Certainly with the added Batkin88 looseness at appropriate times which I am re-introducing into my game.

Although the pace of the game is clearly a lot slower than online, there is a lot more to be gained. For instance the satisfaction looking at the guy you have just stacked (the previous day's winner as well) with him shaking his head muttering "how could I put you on kings". Ok, so he had a few chips left but my 56o finished him off. (which I arrogantly played knowing he would shove any flop - which I fortuitously paired with a redraw for a straight ).

Also when you get AA vs KK vs QQ on the table, it comes up in conversation for hours. As does the KKKK, and the 27o winning hand. Much better than the vnh and that's it which you get online.

So if you haven't played live, but have a decent Sky game, find a local live tournie and give it a go.

3 cashes in a row playing live, all freeze-outs £50-£100 bi.

Thank you Sky. Clearly it has been very beneficial to my play to have spent many hours:

    1. multi-tabling mtts on Sky
    2. watching Sky Poker TV with TK et al
    3. perusing the Sky Poker clinic
    4. watching the Sky regs in action (you know who you are)

Of course, I know it could just be down to positive variance, but let's not spoil the illusion too quickly. (& while I've been writing this I've lost two bis at cash with Apic tptk vs flopped set)

Meanwhile 3 & 4-betting is a lot more intense for me live than online, so hopefully the live play will help that part of my online play.

And having diversified my play between live & Sky I am now much more relaxed wrt the various trials & tribulations of the current Sky experience. So for sure, I will be back.

i always wonder whether when ive taken a break from live and go back to it do i take with me my online gameplay and not play so well or actualy take with me extra skills. And vice versa. Is an interesting topic Geldy i think you can take good and bad stratagies between the two will be interesting to see if your skills from online do bink you some more binkage live :) wd on you cashes too m8

Couldn't last forever - my 33 aipf called by the mega big stack with 35. I'll take that every time, but on this occasion he rivered a straight. Same way as he took out a 4-way aipf earlier A10 > KK vs JJ vs 88, same straight on the river.

Meanwhile had the longest losing streak on cash on Sky ever. Luckily I had removed most of my bankroll earlier in the month which has limited the damage - but for the first time this year my bankroll on Sky is now £0.00, and it will stay that way for the rest of the month.

GL on he tables everyone, & gl in Dundee Mr Burns.

    Hum, a challenge eh!

Have to think about that one - not sure I have the discipline to only play freerolls & my c4p, after all, bank roll management is not my strong point, and I've seen a lot more disciplined player like Rancid go down in flames. Could be a short challenge.

Anyways you get back to that gf of yours........
