Hey,
It seems all of the late registration periods differ according to the type of tournament.
I'm just wondering what factors are taken into consideration when deciding how long to leave the late reg period open?
For example there is a £50 gtd MTT in the lobby now, it's been running for 29 minutes and late reg is just about to end.
The starting stack is 2,000 chips, the blinds at the end of late registration are only 20/40, 50 big blinds.
If the late registration were to be made an hour, the blinds would still only be 40/80 (25xbb), a very playable stack still.
I would like to enter these tournaments as late as possible, it made £168 after only 30 minutes of late registration which is excellent for a £50 gtd tournament. The top prize will top £50, which would be well worth playing for 90 mins or so if I was able to enter late on & avoid what I'd personally class as the most boring stage of the tournament.
People have concerns about late reg, normally that it will encourage 'bingo poker'. That's understandable.
I'm just trying to express the alternative view, any thoughts from sky? Why is the late reg period so short?
Tia. Doh.

Dohhh,
I Posted this in another thread today, as to Late Reg......
"....It has only been here a few days, & the methodology is not yet cast in stone, & so it will be tweaked & refined in the light of user experience as it goes along...."
I doubt any changes will be made this week whilst it settles, & players get used to it, but thereafter, tweaks & fettling is likely on an ongoing basis, taking into account the sort of things you have mentioned.
