Bearlythere's £2000 in 30 days DYM Challenge

I have decided to set myself a dym challenge starting from tomorrow but challenge will become more relistic come friday or monday as i have just ordered a 24inch monitor from amazon.  The challange is to win £2000 in 30 days. I have quite a decent bank account now around 11k and had considered doing a challenge at the £55 dyms but i feel all the regs play at the £55 dyms so not many of us will have an edge in the game i believe.  I will be recording my results on this each day through sharkscope statictics.  I have a good enough roll to play big tournaments at the minute i believe but my goal is to go to vegas for 3 months in April and i feel this is the best way to guarantee a steady income until i win 10 thousand hopefully fingers crossed that way if i do happen to go on a big downswing i will still be well rolled for my trip to Vegas in April.  As part of the challenge so idont get completely bored i will be allowed to play £11 hyperturbo heads up matches and also the main event on sky each night.

    Good luck

i would advise you just go for the 33 and 55 dym's tbh.

There will always be weaker players who play (or take some shots), espeically on weekends,  and your cash for points score will become absolutely massive if your multi-tabling for sick hours.

    Gl either way.

This is a very difficult challenge

To acheive this you will have to put in a supersick volume. A profit of £1 per game at 11 quid dyms is possible but i'd estimate a more realistic profit per game multi tabling of about 60-70p per game

So you will need to play 3000 games perfectly or about 5000 games well to achieve your 3k money in 1 month.

To play 5000 games in a month based on a rate of 20 per hour (assume 6-8 tabling) means you will need to play for 250 hours which means you will need to play for about 9 hours per day every day....

Best of luck but i think, if my rough calculations are correct that this is a very steep target you have set yourself! Also don't forget that grinding huge volumes of dyms can be very boring and very tilting!!! I do speak from experience here.

I think you would be able to achieve this through mainly 55 quid dyms (relying on C4p) but the profit per game is not going to be that high and also they dont run that frequently so multi tabling them is hard as not enuf games run!

    Best of luck Bear.

Try to keep a clear head, that many DYMs can send you a little dolally.

Yes Greg i aggree i dont think i know what im getting myself in for as ive never set a challenge like this before to myself lol.  My estimation is that i will probly play around 8 hours each day.  I also aggree that it will be very boring as you literally have to play like a robot in a dym and i cant do 1 of my 5 bet allins with 73 off lol.  I myself am not sure if this is possible to achieve either but i am going to give it a bash!

Thanks 1267 and Tommyd appreciate it.

Drop your target to £2k bear mate just to give yourself that bit breathing space.

£2k still a v good months profit and you could always repeat it next month.

Good luck whatever you decide mate.

Interesting to see how this progresses. I'd do a race with you (myself just playing at lower stakes), but I'm away for half the month, so no real point in doing so. Gl anyway

Think 'JohnConnor' did DYM challange while back, so might be good to get his advice.

I might try something similar in the future so will be good to see how u get on.

Has anyone else done something like this, how did u get on and how long did it take u?

I know this is the boring response, but setting monetary targets is at best pointless, at worst very bad.

In a sense if you play 1000 DYMs (or whatever), you have no real control over how much profit you make over that sample. The only thing you can do is make good decisions, one month that will mean you win £2k, another month it might mean you break even.

The thing that is so beneficial about setting targets (in life) is that you do something, then if you fail you can assess why you failed, look for ways you could have done something different etc, if you're successful, you can be happy with yourself and assess whether you need to push yourself further next time. However, when you set monetary targets in poker, if you fail at the end of this, you won't be able to take anything constructive from the specific fact that you failed to meet the target.

Ok so today i made a £73 profit on the dyms played 11s for around 4 hours then tonight i decided to play in the 33 bounty hunter and the 110 sky roller because i got bored playing them all day.  Went out early in both tournaments. Then i decided to play 55 dyms and 82.50s all players here are regs so there is no edge.  Will be going back on the 11s tomorrow hopefully my monitor arrives tomorrow would imagine it will be here by monday at the latest.
