    Hi Lewis.

It had to be removed because it was non-compliant in a manner which meant it could not be allowed to remain. We don't make dem rules, but we do follow them.

I'm hoping it might retrurn as a pure & outright "Bankroll Challenge", which would be absolutely fine.

    We shall see.

Don't think Smitalos has even played any poker yet .  Not a great start.

it'll be ironic if he gets forum banned for multiple forum infingements - would make updating the challenge thread a bit tricky - save him having to worry about chatting at the tables though with the new ban one ban both philosophy.

    Hi Geldy,

There has been, to my knowledge anyway, no question of that.

The thread "non-compliancy" (is that a word, or even two?) was a legal & technical thing, which he could not have possibly known about, & I believe someone from Priority Team has spoken to him. I have not suggested anyone deliberately broke any rules.

Please guys, we cannot discuss individual players in these situations, (another legal nicety), so PLEASE be discrete with your questions & comments.

    Thanks.

I'm hoping a revised 'rules friendly' version gets posted. Third time lucky maybe.

My fingers are crossed; it has the potential to be one of the most entertaining threads ever seen on this forum.

100% agree with all of that, Gary. The thread would be sick.....

    What have I missed?

Can I get a rough idea of what was going on (in a legal manner)?

I cannot think of any other forum, I have been on or heard of that would find a reason to ban his previous thread.

Are these rules not pedantically stringent, given that this is a website for over 18year old gamblers?

Obviously you aren't at fault here Tikay but it is a bit much you have to admit?!

I think the prop bet might have been the problem.

If that is the reason, then it is a bit funny.

"Play on Sky Poker, Sky Bet, Sky Vegas!!!... but whatever you do, don't mention gambling."

    Yo Simmy.

As a friend of mine, I hope you don't mind if I answer in a fairly straightforward manner.

Your first sentence. You are absolutely correct, not many Forums would have a reason to remove that thread. Now you have to think of how many Forums are owned & managed by the holder of a UK Gaming Licence......

Your second sentence. Possibly, possibly not. But....Sky Poker do not make those rules. The GC do.

Is it a bit much? Well it is what it is Simmy. Rules exist, & SB&G follow them, strictly. If it makes you feel better to blame Sky Poker, fire away, we are used to it.  But you'd be wrong. Very wrong. ;)

As I stated earlier, if it were simply a bankroll Challenge, it would have been compliant, we would have supported it, and I would have been larging up throughtout tonight's Show.

See you in Nottingham next month. And you owe me a pot of tea for replying to this after a 5 hour show.

The problem was not "mentioning gambling"......

Can we please leave it at that now, lads? Threads are NOT removed without good reason.

I have tried to give you all the clues, & I'll probably get a stiff memo from Head Office in the morning.

    Thanks!

It's really simple if you think about it... sky poker forum doesn = 2+2...

therefore it just doesnt make any sense to keep harping on about it and promote prop betting amongst the community as someone somewhere along the line will get stiffed... trying to mirror similar prop bets... this forum doesnt have the same controls in place that 2+2 has....

In a nut; It doesnt benefit the greater good.  Although I also agree some kind of thread on it would be worth a read...

Well the thread is back, hopefully for good this time.

    [Puts on Mod Hat]

As such I'm locking this thread up, it's pretty much defunct now the challenge thread is back and the general line of the thread is moving towards areas which might cause problems for the challenge thread again, that's the last thing I and hopefully you want as it should be a fascinating read.

I would suggest everyone use their deducting powers for the earlier problem, that's what I have used.  If anyone wants to talk about this further please feel free to PM me.  And if you post in the new challenge thread please use the old noggin and not post anything which could prove troublesome for the thread.

Many thanks to Tikay for answering some of the questions as far as he could.
