Value bet river?

The opponent is very tricky and one of the tougher players at this level.  I think he has a tendency to bluff too much for NL4.  He called the turn fairly sharpish.  110bb deep

Raise the flop everytime, and yeah just get it in.

I like the pre limp along with a small pair IP... but raise flop all day long, at 4nl you'll get action for Jx, 8x J8, etc/.  Moreso with the number of players that have seen flop here - ie its more likely that someone will have a piece. Also in a limp pot its ridic hard to get a villain to get it all in with one pair so when you flop a set like this you have to try and get as much money in the middle as possible.

Pot bet on turn is fine, but had you pot flop then shove/pot turn it's hand over.. when you get to the river it's difficult to see what hands that are worse that will call you, possibly A8, AJ but the later hand would bet like 3/4 on flop. And getting value from one pair is virtually impossible with river being an Ace and completing a flush.

I would still bet river.. maybe something like 30-35% of pot. His not waiting until the river to bluff here.

is this a joke? youre asking whether you should value bet a set against a 'tricky' 4nl player?

Yeah turning a set into a bluff on the river here is the best play!
