Poll - What you like to win in freerolls

Afternoon folks,

We've recently been thinking about some new ideas for promotions etc and I know we all like a freeroll. However, I have always wondered what you prefer to win when you play them? For example, would you rather have a cash prize pool or things like LCD TVs and iPads? Or do you prefer the chance to get an online tourney seat to take a crack at a bigger payday?

Make some basic assumptions such as the value of both prizepools being the same - so £1,000 in cash spread out or say 5 gadgets. Obviously the money spreads wider, but what do you prefer?

I would suggest TOURNEY BUY ins, as everyone likes to win CASH but the problem is you get alot of runners where the cash prize is not alot, also if tourney buy ins was the prizes on offer it will make players stay on site as would have to play that tourny they won the ticket for (and greater chance of winning a greater amount for free).  Nice to see more chances too for free spt seats!!!

gl all at the tables, and gl TEAM GB too.

If I see anyone who's not sponsored wearing branded clothing it insta makes me think they're wannabees trying too hard to be a poker player.
As for prizes, a variation would be good. So, tourney buy-ins one week, gadgets next, merch the next so on and so forth.

Prizes are always a good incentive to try and win.  As mentioned, beating biggish fields for not much money results in lots of away players. I'd also like to have the shop options. Would be great option to use up points.

Don, we wouldn't include orange mankinis in the line - would that still be of interest? :)

Thanks for the feedback so far. I can totally understand some of the points made around cash, and am a little surprises gadgets/electronics hasn't been more popular so far. We all love iPads, surely?!

    I voted for "Other"...

I quite like the idea of the "Coach Kendall" promotion. Since you keep looking for people to follow in the Primo for "Analyse My Play", I think this would be a good way to pick someone.

How about online coaching even via skype with Tikay or one of the other experts. Or have a programme centred around six winner with ever increasing prizes, (entries into comps) but coaching of their game too.
A winner for SKy and wins for all the players too. I want to get better and recognise that i need a good player to watch a full T i play in otherwise i repeat the same errors.

Lol Dave sorry for hijacking the thread, given the options i thought it might be a good side talk took over.

Fwiw i just like my hoodies, and well i have alot of points i do very little with other than freerolls when i just cant be bothered doing anything else, or theres a massive tourny to be won. I can buy loads of things with some other sites logo on it, but if im honest, i just dont like that logo.

BLUEEEE HOOODY PLEASE!!!!! (im not asking to be part of TSP either i just want a new hoody)

And as stated if me and even 30 others just wear it to their local once every now and then it might attract more players to Sky.

Also Dave on subject of freerolls, as my partner (lol_i_call) is still learning the game ive been reluctant to let her deposit too much, gaining enough points to play a freeroll at very low stakes seems like it takes an age. She went Busto twice just trying to get some points together to play one. Expessially since the removal of 30p dyms.

I agree with a points entry system, but really i think theres what 5 or 6 freerolls a day, surley the people who are most interested in playing these struggle to gain that on regular basis.

In my opinion, you need a monthly type of step freeroll. In that you cut the field down over satellite type tournaments. For example, you start with 1000 or so players. Top 30% go through to the next stage. Round two played the following evening and so on, until the field is whittled down and the prizepool can be distributed accordingly.

I also like the idea of some tangible goods, for example. £100+HD tv for first ect.

Cash. Tournament entries are no use to those of us unable to play in the evening. I'd suggest fewer freerolls, bigger prizes. Quality over quantity.

i love freerolls that offer prizes like ipads and lcd tvs as its a real treat for you when you win and something you can hold in your hand. I know you could argue that if you win cash you could go and buy one but its never the same and you prob dont bother buying it so its something you can say look what i won and is differnt from the norm. You play for cash generaly all the time anyways so its a nice change and id love to see this on sky.
