I am fairly new to the Sky poker community.I have made a few posts and commented on a few articles mostly devonfish's 40 to 1000 challenge (well done pal).I have been playing and running badly for a while now but it doesn't seem so bad been part of a team as everyone has there own bad beats and stories.Personally the last month or so hasn't been the best culminating being told today I will be losing my job on the 1st of Sept. When I got a bad beat or rivered I might have a rant in chat but since joining a team I feel I would be letting the team down so count to ten and move on.Just want to thank THS for the warm welcome and hopefully things turn around soon.

Was thinking of a diary but wouldn't make good reading recently. The back story of this I left an Irish site 2 years ago.My younger bro had a bad accident in Spain and I had to give up my job which I had for 13 years to relocate there.I withdrew nearly a five figure sum to cover flights hotel and living exspenses. We I mean all the family were there until he came out of his coma which took 3 months.Thankfully he is doing great but meant I had no job in recession Ireland.I picked up a 3 month contract after 2 years out of work and today I found out it wasn't being exstended to more than the 3 month's.We also had a break in which all our electrial appliances were stolen. My post was about the teams especially team THS which Dave kindly asked me to join have helped loads.Even though I am playing at much lower stakes than previously I am enjoying the forum games. Not sure where I am going with the post but felt the teams were a good idea as it helped me.

I, just like you, will do everything I can to help & support my family through hard times, but sometime we need a little support & consolation ourselves to help us through the hard times. That's the one thing I love about the Teams and the Sky poker community, they are always here to help.
Its amazing what a difference the community support can make, not just players within your own team, but also players in rival teams & the rest of the community. They are second to none and will often offer some wise words which will help see you through the bad times on and off the tables.
I wish you all the best and hope that the light at the end of the tunnel is not too distant.
Regards

All the best fella. Life is full of woes and you've had your share. One thing about serious events is that it allows us to put minor things into perspective. Bad beats etc just don't matter too much as long as we enjoy what we are doing. When you play poker , just enjoy it mate as, im glad to say, you seem to be doing. Cheers...
If You get a chance, have a look at The 'Real Life' thread to mate!!!
Inspiring how folk deal with obstacles!!
