Hi everyone I am new to Sky poker but been playing for some years now so I am not easy to bluff and I know what I am doing lol. What I want to know is what is the advantage of downloading the software to run the poker as at the moment I am running it off my browser and it runs fine from that.

......i don't know the answer but i have both and i stick to the browser version purely bcoz there were that many problems originally with the download so I just stuck with the tried and tested browser version......would be intrigued to hear other opinions tho.

It is supposed to be faster than the browser, but I still have problems loading it! Seem to be a compatibility problem with running on windows 7.
When I struggle to load it, I use the browser!

One advantage is if you're multi-tabling tourneys, you can have all the tourney lobbies open at the same time.

I used the Download all the time because it got me to the table quicker and I never missed the first hand, but more recently it as on occasion refused to load and even froze the computer. I now mainly use the browser via Firefox as the chrome browser often gives me the sound of the table but no table to play on!

Generally I think the download client is a smoother and a slicker experience to navigate through.

On occasion the download client seems to never fully start or connect to Sky Poker, but this is rare and usually closing and re-opening sorts the issue.

It's really easy to download and install, it requires Adobe Air but you pretty much just click a button and it installs all that is required.

Why not just give it a download and just use it solid for a couple of days and see what you feel most comfortable with, I guess it really comes down to personal preference at the end of the day :-)

I downloaded yesterday but i do not like the 'What Sky Poker has to offer' ad that appears when you log on AND when you log off. It is no faster for me than the net version and i got used to the net version also so i uninstalled the download.
