Bankroll Challenge

Hello all, decided to do a challenge with myself to turn a small buy in into a full bankroll.

There are a lot of reasons for this, one is that I seem to have a jekyll and hyde game, where one day I am good the next I have more leaks that a bucket shot with a machine gun lol. This challenge is intended to make me play a lot more consistent.

Back to the challenge now, I started it a couple of weeks ago when I decided to deposit a fiver and see how well I could do with it, so far I have got it up to £19, mostly just by grinding up on cash sessions.

I will regularly post updates after either each day or session depending on situations such as work lol, although after today I will not be posting over the weekend as I am away and from what I remember unfortunately nowhere near a free wifi signal lol

Any advice on hands I show and all encourage is greatly appreciated.

setting your self a challenge is good for some players and you can keep records of your progress, play and habbits and it allows yourself and other players advise you and focus you on the task at hand rather than blindley just playing and not keeping any disciplin. I myself have found it useful and so have others on this site.

Playing low stakes cash nl4 is going to be hard to start with when only starting with a br of £19 because you really need to buy in for the full amount which would be £4 per session to give you the advantage and you have to expect to lose at least 1 stack before making a profit in a session which would be £8. Playing with cash you really need to start with a min of £60 and thats only 15 buy ins so you could go busto quite quickly. I would advise starting on low stakes dym or sit n goes which start from 60p to £1 buy in to start with this will give you a lot more buy ins to get over the varience. build it up then try the cash tables. Gl with your challenge and be lucky :)

Yeah most definitely agree with Dazler. I've been playing alot of 4NL recently and I consider myself to be a fairly competent player, certainly good enough to beat 4NL and yet everyone can run badly.

I am currently in the middle of a 10 BI downswing which is largely due to coolers like getting it in with QQ v KK etc, over and over. So that's £40 down which is twice your BR and I think I've made fairly few mistakes, or at least relatively small mistakes.

I'm not saying it can't be done, my situation above is the exception rather than the norm, and I hope you rungood to start with, but with £19 at 4NL you very much have to be prepared for the fact you could easily go bust without making a single mistake.

    hi Spike,
    gl with your challenge buddy
    off 2 a nice start.
it can be done but now is the most critical time if you keep to good b/roll management & run ok you will be fine.
    best of luck.

    best of luck with this.

ive done similar in the past so know it can be achieved with some hard work and good discipline sprinkled with a little run good tostart you off.

I started with £1 a couple of years ago and I'm still living off it.  Just need to run good early.  I don't usually care about these challenges but for some reason (probably just empathising with your jekyll and hyde game) I really hope you do well.  Looking forward to following this.

    Good Luck!
