Mini UKOPS

I have been watching the repeats on 861 today and saw Tikay asking for input on the upcoming mini-UKOPS. I think its a great idea.

I would go with 1 tournament a night and would prefer the inclusion of at least one PLO and one Hi-Lo event. Keep the whole buy-in below £30 and everyone has a chance to compete if they can cash through the week...

Mon-friday 2.20, sat 5.50 and a big deepstack NLH on the sunday at 11 quid. Keep it cheap, keep it simple, and keep it fun.

Rich and Tikay were also discussing the possibility of adding a TV icon to the DTD tables and showing hands the next night. I think this is a good idea as its bound to attract more players.

    Hi Jimb0d1
    Here is my input..........

UKOPS as an annual event, has the potential to make a prestigious name for itself and attract some serious players to sky poker with its continued marketing & TV coverage.

There were plenty of satellites into these events too, so it also suited the lower stakes players and gave them a chance to play in a high roller type event against some of the big boys.

I'm not so keen on a mini UKOPS as a business man personally, as it would feel like we were watering down or re-labelling what could be a great wine, just so we can sell it in bulk to a cheaper supermarket.

If we are going to have a mini UKOPS type of event, it really needs to be re-branded in my opinion so our main UKOPS event does not become somewhat of a gimmick and loses it's attraction.

The WSOP is afterall the WSOP - The UKOPS should be just that, but by all means have some side events.

I dont mind the addition of a mini UKOPS.
You dont have to call it that though, you could just have a low and medium buy in with 30 or so minutes start time between them and play both if you want.

I dont think having a mini ukops would detract from the main ukops if it ran alongside.  If its good enough for the biggest poker site in the world..

Obviously I'm not going to define by highest tournament buy in.

I think its a great idea, lower stakes players should no be denied a chance to take part in a propper event! As most are out of range of a lot of players bank rolls would it hurt to have just one where everyone can take part!
Bring it on sky and count me in

Largest active player base 'yes'.. volume of hands played 'NO'.. revenue 'NO'.. Should it be considered an online poker site in this context 'NO WAY'
