Here we go again - Diary of a losing recreational player (part 3)

Oh no not again I hear you all say, but yes it is back, not by popular demand may I add.
I have had a rollercoaster few months since I left SKY poker a few months ago, in terms of poker and worklife.
When doing my previous diary I was working as a night trading manager for Asda and as a result made the decision to ply my poker trade elsewhere due to the real lack of traffic at the times I could play.
This has cost me my bankroll as I got eaten alive by the sharks on some of the bigger sites and ventured mainly into the world of MTT and 180 man SNG's. I have now learnt my lesson and believe that SKY is where I belong and the cash tables are where I am most profitable.
I have also had a change of job role and am now a Trading Manager at Asda which means I am free to play poker at the more acceptable times of evenings and some mornings and afternoons on my days off as I have returned to the normal working hours of the majority of the country.
So why another diary I hear you ask. The main reason for the diary going forward is that I have found that when I have written my diary before it has helped me really focus and become a more profitable player. So I am going to invest a £100 for my starting bankroll and just stick to cash for the entire month of September. I will be 3-tabling 20nl and yes I know this breaks every BR rule there is , but we won't worry about that. I will steer clear of any MTT's and SNG's apart from one MTT I will be playing on Bet Fair where I have a $220 ticket I won via a satellite which unfortunately cannot be cashed out.
Another reason for the diary is that I do think there are a real lack of diaries on the forum at the mo, when I left there were probably 10 - 15 diaries being regularly updated and now there only appear to be a couple.
So here goes on another leg of the incredible journey that poker is. Lets hope it is a profitable one.

Glad to see you back on the site/forum.

It's funny because there was a bit of a discussion about the whole BR thing on my diary recently about me being too cautious. I wish you all the best with your diary, wish I had the bottle to play such highstakes (in comparison to my roll). Good luck and I hope you run well at the start.

I'll definitely be following with interest, more diaries FTW

To be honest Lambert to call it my BR is probably wrong. It is the amount I currently have in my account is probably a more accurate description. I know if I go bust I can always reload and so I am not playing above my means or with scared money. The reason I am playing at this level is two-fold.
      1. I have beaten this level before and really believe I have the game to beat this level and move on up following proper BR management of approx. 20 buy-ins.
      2. I find playing any lower I do not appreciate the money and start to play really raggy and far too aggressive poker.
Having said that I am currently £30 down in this session and really don't want to be reloading that quickly.

So first day finished and have to say it was pretty brutal. Didn't run particularly well and lost 4 pots of over £15, see below.
3 of the 4 I don't think I played particularly badly and the AQ hand was perhaps the dodgy one I maybe should of got away from.
On the bright side got a tip for a horse from a reliable source and had £10 ew on it at 12/1, with it coming in second for a £14 profit.

Calling it a night so I can away and lick my wounds, would be interested in any feedback on following hands.

    Hi Trebor,

Welcome back.  Multiple hands in same post mite be a cut & paste into word and then to post? Good luck with your challenge. Also, what does a trading manager for ASDA do exactly?

Hand 1 - fold to 3-bet. You're gonna miss so often and just end up folding to his c-bet.

Hand 2 - exactly as i would have played it, think it's just a cooler.

Hand 3 - again i'd fold to the 3-bet. Depends on history/dynamics but i think we can wait for much easier spots with AQo where we're not out of position. Nitty to fold some may say, but personally i would cause you're never sure where you're at even if the A hits.

Hand 4 - i would 3-bet the AK, to narrow the field and because we're out of position again. Perhaps if you make it £2 minimum to go you would have gotten a fold and taken it down there and then.
