Hello everyone

I thought id just ask this as alot of you are proberly around my level and theres always good help on this forum.

Iv played poker alot lately and managers to win around £1100 on cash tables in 2 months mainly 50nl/100nl
like anyone i want to test myself at higher levels and improve my game but i understand poker is about varience and dealing with the good aswell as the bad but i have a problem of taking the profit and starting from the start again.

For example if i put in £500 BR WAS UP TO £800 and lost £100 in a day id take it out keep the £200 profit and start from £500 again just so i cant blow it all and so i know my hours and effort has made me somthing, is this a big problem? how do u lot sort your BR out?

Also what sort of BR is apporiate for 50nl/100nl/200nl? around £3000?

A lot of it is do do with what kind of level your game is at at the moment and how comfertable you are depositing if you go bust.  For cash id say around 30 buyins at each level is fine and for tournaments 100 buyins due to the varience in them.  I myself when i started out was fearless with my bankrool.  I took a lot of shots when i 1st started poker and it worked out for me but i definately wouldnt say thats the correct appraoch.

    Sigh.

    50nl - £1250
    100nl - £2500
    200nl - £5500+

To be fair, these are gonna be the hardest levels on the site and so the swingiest for your bankroll, if you really wanna be safe I'd go more than Patwalsh and say...

    50NL - £2500
    100NL - £5000
    200NL - £10,000

Sounds alot I know but you'll be so glad you went this route when you go on a 10 buyin losing streak which WILL happen.

Agree with Lambert more here. I have had a lot of success previously on another site playing cash and recently moved much of my roll (2k worth) over to Sky to play cash here as I think the c4p is good here.

I initially played 50nl to moderate success, but I really didn't enjoy the swings at all so have dropped down to 20nl. I am now operating a 100 buy-in minimum rule for cash. This is very much over the top for BRM but it makes me feel comfortable.

One thing to maybe consider is what are you looking to gain from poker? Recreational? Semi-pro? Professional? Also how many tables are you playing? I am playing this for a year as my income before I hopefully get on a PGCE course and I play 8 tables so that is why i hae such strict management. if you are playing less tables and for recreational purpopes, then I'd say go for it... but I would take Lamberts advice out of the three offered.
