£33 Freezeout or £33BH

In light of the 5.00pm Freezout being phased out to to a long weekend, I was wondering if bounty hunters really are so much more popular than a standard freeze out tournament.

Given the choice of a late afternoon / early evening £33 entry mtt which would people prefer?

Darty, do you mean personal preference of MTT we like to play or which one do we think is better for the site to be there if it was a straight choice?

I would probably play both if I was available, but in terms of 'prefer' I have two different answers.

I probably wouldn't play at this time, but if I were to play and had the money I'd only play the freezeout, not the bh

It depends on the buy in for me. I'm not playing the sort of level I was a year ago, so for me if it was a £33 buy in I would rather it be a BH because its easier to win some $ back. If however it was a £11 or a £22 I would prefer a freezeout as the bounties will not be worth that much.

Where I'm coming from is, recently we have had £33 mt options between 5 and 6.

Personally I have preferred to play the freezeout over the bounty hunter.

Bankroll for me means I am unlikely to play the two together regularly.

Tonight the 5.00pm has been dropped, I would have played it, I have chosen not to play the £33bh at 6.00pm.

For a number of reasons , my answer would be I prefer the £33 freezeout.

I guess I am intrigued to see if I am in the minority who are frustrated to see quality freezouts struggling to hold their own.

I think this is a very a good point and confess that the higher up the stakes I go, I can sort of justify in my mind that it will be alright to push the bankroll for a bounty hunter as I've got a good chance of recovering some of my outlay before variance does it's damage.

That said it's the challenge of a high stakes MTT's that I enjoy the most.

The main flaw with this thread is, it's well known tons of people on the forum don't like BHs so you'll get the answer you want in this thread.

However about 99% of people who play on Sky, don't come on the forum, so this isn't giving the opinion of the masses. People vote with their feet and BHs consistently get more runners than FOs at every stakes. Personally I prefer FOs, but the masses on Sky do not.

Hi Lambert, I can see how you might think I might have set this up, but the only answer I was looking for was the true one.

It genuinely surprises me that given an equal choice, punters might prefer a bounty hunter at these levels.

I knew the £1K guarantee was being met, but I don't know how many more people were playing the 6.00pm bounty hunter in preference to the 5.00pm freezeout, or if it was simply a case of more traffic on the site at 6.00pm than 5.00pm.

At the end of the day Sky obviously track the numbers and put on what they see the public likes!

I'm not opposed to bounty hunter's, in fact I probably make more money from bounty hunters.

At the moment the level of £11+ bounty hunters are plentiful, from 2.00pm through to midnight.

I found it refreshing to have a regular higher stakes freezeouts available every day.

I was seeing the 5.00pm freezeout as an opportunity to improve my game, there appeared to be a few different faces playing this event and for me playing this format certainly highlights your weaknesses and leaks more clearly, compared to playing in a bounty hunter.

I again would play both but as a prefrence I certainly feel we need a lot more higher stakes freezouts.

I know a lot who know me, know i am a reg MTT player at all levels but am forced to play a lot of the 11 buy ins during the day due to lack of choice.

It may also sound strange I want freezouts when I have done very well at the BH but the problem with so many BH is I think it it has lead to bad play on the site with a lot of players and would rather be in freezouts where there is more poker being played.

I do buy into the 5k BH etc but I would def like to see maybe a new option we have seen the numbers in the £55 buy ins very healthy compaired to the £110 and would like to see run 1 freezouts at £55 and 1 BH at £55 in the eve/late afternoons.

I know this is a growing site and it will continue to change but more higher MTTs will attact more players from other sites imo
