What would your rebuy strategy be in this tourny?

It's £500 gtd. £5.50 buy in. 2k chips. The add on is 4,000

I think it's unlikely to beat the £500 gntee, so it will mean 5 places paid, top prize around £220, min cash will prob be about 30/40 quid.....

Standard in big rebuy tournys for me is to auto rebuy from hand 1, and add on. (£16.50 total)

Would that be the best way to approach this one too? It's quite a small comp and I'd say a large %age of the field will just pay the £5 and treat it like a freezeout (not a bad option imo)

I will have a big edge on most of the field, a few good players in it though.

Structure of the rebuy period below if it matters.

Stick to the standard double starting stack and add on?

110.00 / 20.0010
215.00 / 30.0010
320.00 / 40.0010
-Late Registration Closes-
430.00 / 60.0010
540.00 / 80.0010
650.00 / 100.0010

If you think you have a good edge on the field then double rebuy up to level 6

Only quit if you think you are playing bad/feeling tilty.

I don't think I'd bother double rebuying at all if I busted a double stack to start , it's wether to double rebuy straight away or not......

Seems like the standard double stack + addon is the best way to go ....... ?

Pretty inexperienced with rebuy MTTs only ever played like tiny buy in super turbos w/ massive gntees.

For me personallyi wouldnt do a rebuy str8 away i would test the water see how the people on the table are playing 1st after a few levels if u think u can crush it then do a rebuy

Prob with this is I can only rebuy on starting stack and under, so I'd need to request it very first hand. (Or have a bad/slow start, which obv isn't the plan)

yeah I always rebuy straight away and always add on too. I'd always play it that way

Hi Dohhhhhh (hope i spelt it correctly...my eyes hurt!)

Is this a competition where you can late entry and stay clear of maniacs early on? With your skill, experience and edge what about one rebuy when you do join to enable you to bully table somewhat? Only an opinion from a relative novice fella but i'd like your thoughts on it.

    +1

always rebuys straight away - play deep stack poker as quick as you can and try and get a massive stack plus you want a bigger stack to kick the variance

    + take add on always

    rebuys are always:

buy in + rebuy + add on minimum

    Is this a level?

I thought there is 'no late reg' on rebuy tournies?

    No level Alan.

When the late reg came in, it boosted the numbers on all tournaments.

All the velocity tournaments were rebuys though, so I asked why there was no late reg on these, and apparently they couldn't do it, due to a technical problem/issue. It wasn't their choice, they just couldn't do it.

So they take these tournys down, because they weren't hitting the guarentees.

Within a fortnight, late reg is on rebuys.

    Clueless. imo.

Did anyone else at your table double rebuy?

If not what point is there?

    Buyin = £5 for 2k chips,

    if make addon £5 = 4k chips.

if you've entered this comp why would you not take the addon?

you'd rather buyin not double rebuy at the start and addon just to be in for £10 because for that £10 you'd have 6k chips not 4k!

    It starts @ 5pm bean.

The addon is automatic, obv gonna take it if I'm still in.

Just wondering if it's gonna be more profitable playing it with a 2k starting stack than 4k (£11 total or £16.50 total)

    ..........

I would auto do it. It's optional though.

I haven't played the tourny yet, it starts in 17 minutes so I can't answer your question yet.

I'm surprised that makes much of a difference? Trying to build a stack regardless aren't we? :s

It's on here btw, come play :D

ofcourse it makes a difference you utter plonker

table of 5 players + Doh.

All sit with 2k stack none rebuy, what's the benefit of you rebuyin? you still cover everyone!

If the whole table rebuys straight away and you think you're evenly matched or better whack out dat double rebuy unless ofcourse you think that they will call a single stack shove alot ligher than a double stack or w/e

but mainly it will depend on who is at your table and what they do.

You said you assume you're better than most, therefore you would want to be covering your opponents. SO you should rebuy early if others do.

No one insta rebought - so nor do you

people double - so you now rebuy to cover, but in some tournies you wont need to and so will have outlayed less.

    simples.

    15 rebuys

Even if everyone adds on there's £200+ overlay.

Meh, 12 addons, so £360 total, £140 overlay!

In for £16.50, 9.5k hitting 75/150, run guddddddddddddddddddd plz :)
