Can you get better from free play

I hate playing in play money games.  People just call anything, throw allin for with anything.  Doesnt give someone like me who wants to get better a chance to get better :/.  I love the free rolls but even then you get daft moves.

Only got 15 poker points left and still want to participate in more tournaments before making a deposit.  Using my 888 bonuses and doing alright so far!

Anyone know any other sites that are instant play and have bonuses?

To be honest, I don't think Sky are gonna appreciate people posting up advertising other sites lol so the posts would probably get removed.

Freerolls are tricky to try to learn from, you can still put into practice your own skills like hand selection etc but gonna be very hard to ever try to put someone on a range of hands.

All depends on your own financial situation, but might be a good idea to just put £10 in and start on 60p DYMs. They're the lowest stakes game on the site, they're pretty low variance and the average opponent is very weak. Good chance for you to learn cheaply and make make a few quid

free play you learn the basics but you really dont learn much unless its real and for money.

My advice would be to deposit or get a friend to recommend you so you both get a bonus, and play micr DYM's or NL4 cash.  This will give you a taste of real money play without breaking the bank.

    Best of luck

    Hi, gavi.
as Paul say's freerolls can be a nightmare ..people calling any 2 cards
If you can afford it deposit £10 or so and play the 60p dym or the 55p HU
just so you get a feel for playing for real money.
btw way i've sent you a pm.. check on your profile.

Maybe even a deep stack Gavi ...£2.20 in woogies afternoon league...good fun and you will learn a lot without pressue for at least a couple of hours min. Seems very good value if your trying to improve your play, have a small bankroll and just want entertainment. Its a free league ...sign up in gen forum if you fancy it.

i think to start of free roll are an excelent way to improve. Yes players are uber loose and also chuck in with any 2 cards at times but there is the challenge its self. It costs you nothing and you can win money. Bad players are what you want if you can learn to beat them you can improve. Once you have the hang of the game move on to 60p dym or sit n goes and then when your comfortable play a couple of £1.20 mtts. I would imo play cash when you have a decent br even micro stakes nl4 because it dosnt sound like much money it can soon add up to a lot if you go on a losing streak where as the others it wong hurt so much.

I think freerolls are great for improving your game. Aside from players shoving or calling with any 2 cards, you can still use them to practice playing from position, observing what your opponents do in certain situations and picking the right spots to make your plays. These are an important part of the game regardless of the levels/buy in
