I'm back from my travels around Sardinia and Finland and ready to host THREE shows in a row on channel 861!

Tonight's opus is…

Episode I: The Phantom Rutter

We'll be kicking off the evening at 7 o'clock, with live coverage of the Sit & Go Champ Final.

At 8pm, it's Ask the Expert. Stuart's the expert in residence. So, ask him stuff. Preferably about poker! Seriously, this is a great opportunity for you to send in your Hand IDs, so Stuart can analyse the hand from YOUR perspective, as we mask the hole cards of the other players.

From 9pm, we'll continue following the Sit & Go Champ Final, as part of a Sky Poker School lesson on the S&G format. I know we have a lot of Sit & Go specialists on the site, so perhaps a few of you would like to share some hints and tips?

Finally, we've got an hour of tournament coverage at 10pm, followed by sixty minutes of Master Cash at 11pm.

So, last weekend saw another season of the Sky Poker Tour consigned to the history books. And now, we're looking ahead to the six-max event at DTD next month. For the benefit of those who've yet to "experience" the Sky Poker Tour, please submit...

Your favourite SPT anecdote!

It doesn't have to be a tale from the tables. Rather, an amusing incident that occurred on the tour. The author of the most entertaining contribution - as judged by the Sky Poker TV team - will receive a free tournament entry :-)

Good luck to all in the SNG tonight.

I don't have any SPT anecdotes.  What happens at the SPT stays at the SPT ;).  All I can say is if you have never experianced one then please get down to one as soon as you can.  They are amazing fun and SKY even give added value for the side events.  I came third in the side event on the Saturday at the grand final.  Modesty prevents me from saying how I did.

Could you please show this in ask the expert from last nights main  Hand 564852262.  Did I overbet on the flop?  I had been fairly aggro, for once, and I hoped my big bet would be taken as me not being as strong as I was.

Have a great show and run well on the tables all and remember to have fun

SPT Anecdotes, so many to choose from so here is my top 3

    1) TKP does Tikay - SPT Newcastle, a co-ordinated effort was undertaken for us to dress as Tikay for the Friday night tournament before Newcastle, All in maroon jumpers with trademark Tikay scarf and masks Tikay's face was a picture as 12 Tikay's decended on Asper's casino

    2) James Hartigan stays at ETAP - SPT Glasgow - abiding memory here is I checked into ETAP Glasgow with Sian and we both said at the same time "Sky staff won't be staying here will they?" James can explain the rest in his own words!

    3) SPT Grand Final Last Longer competition - Beat James at a hand of Omaha and play the SPT Grand Final to qualify - both Yorkie74 and I managed to do this and ended up as the last 2 in the last longer to win a weeks entries to Sky main events! At end of day 1 we were the only two left sparking some TV interest and I eventually prevailed! I remember James also threw in a pint of bitter (when he found out what a pint of bitter was) as a prize!

There's one story about SPT Blackpool that I can tell you.

You see there was this guy making balloon animals and what-not, and there was one that Greghogg, Anna and a few others were playing with that was shaped like a... oh... I probably shouldn't talk about that.

No. Nothing interesting happens at SPT's.

By the way, Mr Hartigan. I'd like to get a wee betting tip from you, if I may.

I'm looking to place a wager on the winner of this season's Superbowl. Where do you think would be the best home for my £3: Denver, San Francisco or Baltimore?

Thank you James. Have a great show chaps.

SPT .. met one of the old regulars. He seemed a nice bloke, shook hands etc. A few minutes later he was explaining how he'd run out of toilet rolls in the hotel room so he'd had to use his hand.
    Marvellous.

PS Pulp Fiction is rubbish ;-p  (Yes I know we both hate smilies but I had to use one here).

    Have a great show guys.

    Thx

    Have a good show

    Hi James and Stuart,

I don’t have an SPT story but I do have a story from DTD when I went to a poker tournament with (Rileys) you don’t need to say that if you don’t want there was 267 runners and I finished 17th in the money only £50 but I had been drinking all day then went on to the cash tables and turned it into £230 and put the cash chips in my pockets to take to the cashier desk and only emptied one pocket and forgot I still had chips in my other pocket went back to my hotel at 4 am and awoke in the morning at 7am by my mates knocking the door down to find I still had £145 in chips in my jeans pocket and DTD was closed at this time and as I live in Plymouth I still have the chips to take back to DTD this was 3 years ago knowing my luck they have changed the chips and they are worthless enjoying the show keep it up.

hi james i dont have a story about an spt coz ive never been to one but i do have one about my local casino in hull .
Playing a 20 pound  three table tourney in my home town. Down to 16 players left my buddy to my right is short stack relative to the deepstacks present, not the blinds. He triples the bet two seats to the right of the button. BB is his only caller. Flop comes 4s5h2h. The girl in BB checks to him, and he pushes all in which is about 3 times the pot and the girl sits there for about a full minute and decides to call a third of her stack with QJ off..

Now, it so happens that my buddy was bluffing with a K9 off, but at the same time..he was good.. Question is, how does this girl call with QJ off, no pair no draw for a third of her stack??

So, the turn is a J. river is a brick, she takes down the pot with a QJ off.

My buddy says, "wow, how'd you know?"

She says, " know what? "

He says, "know that I was bluffing?"

Get this, the girl says.."well, thats what happens when you play in the world series of poker; you learn how to read people.

I wanted to bust out laughing, but I held my composure.

so my buddy said, "maybe it was a read...but do they also teach you to call bluffs with a Q high..considering the insane amount of hands the person holding can have that demolish your hand? Or did you just know you were gonna spike a J and that I was not holding AJ or KJ? Or spike a Q and new that I wasnt holding AQ or KQ?"

The girl was dumbfounded..had no idea what to say..

An SPT experience that I will never forget came at the recent final.

People attend these great sporting events hoping to see their heroes perform, a bit like going to a football match and seeing David Beckham score one of his trademark free kicks or being in the stadium when Usain Bolt sets a new world record.

On the Saturday evening of the SPT final I was sat in seat one of my table when the legendary Tikay joined the table in seat 2 with his trademark shortstack.

For the next few hours I was able to see first hand Tikay the legend work that shortstack, I swear it never went up and it never went down.

But for me the story did not end there, as I was the fellow shortstack on the table and after a couple of hours play, with both Tikay and myself on around 9-10 big blinds, I finally found a hand of sorts, in pocket 7's.

In my defence this was at around 1:00am after 11 hours play, with my pocket 7's under the gun I decided to min raise, this I thought could be viewed as a sneaky bet showing strength, if that plan didn't work and it got messy pre-flop I had decided the chips would go in anyway.

What I didn't account for was Tikay and his shortstack, next to act, min raising my min raise.

The rest of the table folded around to me and after a lot of wincing and squirming I decided to fold with the knowledge that I had let myself be bullied by Tikay and his shortstack, something I'm sure not many people can or would admit to!

I could be spotted leaving DTD at around 1:45am shaking my head and mumbling to myself, I arrived home 2 hours later still in shock!

    Good show tonight chaps.

James: £3 on the 49'ers at 6/1 on SkyBet. Thanks for the tip.

Of course I could have got 18/1 on either the Ravens or the Broncos, so if one of those two win it this season, I'll be coming round to see you. lol
