hi 250 guarentee last 10 8 cash both players 20plus bbs deep
i in big blind with aa receive min raise from small blind and decide to just call for deception
board k 10 6 two clubs player leads out half pot i re raise to pot he calls turn card k !
player checks i check back river 10
so board k k 10 10 6 no flush arived he checks so i go 3/4 pot he waits then min raises i fold!
this seemed to cause a stir on the table and was told i shoulda checked the river but surely if he on draw he folding to my bet plus i was effectively repping the king in the end so y would i check river with the supposide nuts ?

Once he bet flop, I'd just shove.
No point making him fold when he has a draw because you'd be bluffing with the best hand. You could possibly check if you did have the K to let him bluff with all his missed draws. If he has a missed draw, you get called 0% of the time, but if you check, he probably bets more than 0% of the time. But that's assuming he only has a draw obv.
i agree now on flop i should have just slammed as you say he shown an interest in the flop ie either the flush draw or hit top pair so would of got the call either way.
originally my thoughts were was i wrong to check back on turn as if i did have king and hit 3 of a kind why would i check back with a flush draw on the board.
thats what makes me think he may not have had the f/h and just saw my check as weakness ie putting me on that draw .then allowing me to stab at the river by checking it.
v interesting cheers
glad you posted about this and i managed to find the hand- hand id #568057180
It was nice to have a grownup conversation about the hand in the chat box cos usually I get told to F off or summat similar when I try to talk about hands.
