First off your pre flop bet is way to high imo, surley you want him to call so you were lucky he did with that hand. Then on the flop he hits his drawing hand which he was ovb after this puts you in trouble and because of such a big pre flop raise you have commited him and yourself at this point theres no way hes folding and your better off checking the flop, Yes your ahead and yes you have hit big but he now has value in his call and concequently has commited himself also with a ton of outs, by checking the flop or making a small bet you then can string him along if he has a pk pair you have him if he is on a draw you can get away from it or pos even hit a fh. Pocket rockets look nice and invincible pre flop but they can also get you into a lot of trouble! after all it is only a pair.
So i understand a decent raise pre to get the odd few drawings hands away. The only thing your doing by betting this high is saying ive got AK pk As or Pk Ks or a mid pk pair and that you dont want any callers unless they also have similar and if they did they would most likely fold and drawing hands in this situation actualy look good. Playing mtts its not a race to the finish and you have to pick your spots and trap players to build up a decent stack and then when you have built it up can play stronger with hands like pk As in the later stages agains the short stacks.
Its all about patience in mtts and if your a cash player this can be quite a hard transition but if you stick with it you will become more comfortable with these sorts of players.
My explanations on how to play the hand are my own and im sure others may do it differently but just trying to give you a different perspective on how to tackle mtts.
