Hi all,
Despite winning the hand, I'm concerned that I maybe should have folded the river or c-bet bigger on flop or something. By the time the turn comes there are two overcards to my JJ. Do we think I should have stopped firing here? This was quite early on in the 150 deepstack, so didn't really have any reads. Because he was c/c, I only put him on draws. His shove on the turn didn't make a lot of sense to me. Any advice appreciated. Thanks

You did well to put him ona draw. I think he feels that your bet for some reason meant you didn't have an ace and when the other arrived he was going to give you a scare. He's not caught his oesd and was looking for a way of winning the pot. Surely he should have check raised the turn if he did have the ace. His play doesn't make sense to me. Jacks can be a precarious hand as your chances of overcards on the board are high and give you a bit of a cheeks clench but wp in my opinion. You saw through him.......
Mike
I definately c-bet bigger, 300-325
Also agree with the 2 above posts, check behind on the turn for pot control
His line does look like a missed flush draw but I probably sigh fold on the river, but if you check the turn, the pot's only 1000 making the decision on the river alot easier.
When you bet on the turn, the only hand that can call you that you beat is a flush draw, realistically. The problem is that the most common suited hand for a player to limp-call with pre-flop is Ax suited and that's a hand that's just gone ahead on this turn. So even if he was holding a hand that we were beating on the flop (something other than top-pair), there's a good chance that his hand has now improved to be beating us.
When he shoves on the river, we're only beating a missed flush draw. I wouldn't call as I'd think that people over-shove with big value hands more often than with bluffs. I think overall this call is going to be wrong more often than it's right.
Thanks again
Mike
