Sound Issues with new Laptop

Hi was wondering if anyone has ever experienced an issue like this with an external monitor.  I bought a new laptop yesterday and the sound on the laptop works fine if im just using the laptop however when i connect my new laptop to my external monitor im getting no sound.  Has anyone ever experienced an issue like this?  Thanks

    Hi Bearlyther
    If you are using a HDMI Lead to connect your external monitor try this...........


    Try going to Start />Control Panel />Sound>Playback tab. Make "HDMI" not default device -- make Speakers the default device.

    If you are using a standard monitor lead then try this........

    Try going to start />control panel />sound>speaker settings>advanced>speaker setup>set speakers to laptop speakers.

    Hope this works for you.
