MTT 'line check'.

This is the FT of a £5r.

I've been the button to this guys BB for ages now, from 2 tables out.

I've been very aggressive opening the button most times when unopened and cbetting quite alot.

He has peeled a few times, 1 time we got to showdown he had A4 after calling pre flop, and calling down Axx x x, I barrelled flop and turn, gave up river. 1 pair was good.

There was 1 hand I didn't get to see, he peeled and c/c my cbet, I had something this time, but checked back turn for pot control and he led the river pretty strong.

I really wanted to hero call it, but just folded.

He's prob starting to get abit annoyed with me, and might be about to "take a stand" can just kinda feel it, especially now the bubble has bust.

When he calls on that flop, I think it's like KQ/QJ/QT, sets, pocket pairs and maybe just some weird 1pair hands that he's made loose calls with pre. as well as air.

Decide to check back turn, to induce something otr, or value bet myself. I don't think I'm getting 2 streets off most of his range, so I wanna try and make something happen.

Good river card, just flat now? or can I ship and level him into calling after checking back turn?

    I don't really like it.

Everyone knows you. You've got such an aggro image. I think you should be nearly always betting ott here, especially after villain called a cbet 3way. You could still get value from underpairs (unlikely, but with your image idk), and obv all worse queens.

otr as played, i was thinking it'd be kinda thin value to shove, but i think i do shove. you've totally under repped your hand and could easily get paid off by a Q. It's only a $5r, not deano ;-)

also, you say youd vbet river. bet check bet is generally always regarded as a hand, and rarely a bluff. whereas bet bet bet is more likely to be a bluff imo.

I think that he will think that I've given up, after getting caught out last time....

& will either bet river himself for what he thinks is value, or check and snap call my bet if he has like 8s or Ts or 78s or something like that.

Ok let me get this straight, we start the hand with 28 BB effective v Villian.  We have an aggro image.  They call pre and two streets v us with TP -no kicker.  We flop TPTK in a hand v them in position.  And we check back the turn to induce?  Don't like that street at all.  Obviously if he C/R the turn we're not happy and you might well show us he's huge when you do the reveal, doesn't matter as far as I'm concerned.  We have to bet that turn for value.

As played I flat the river, need more info to know if villian is stacking off on the river with QT-KQ/A7 etc

    ofc not!

sigh again, 1 day I'll do something non-standard, post it in here, and people will say "wp"! :-D

    Not this time :(

It worked out, but obv not the right play.

I didn't think he would float oop with no pair no draw, so more luck than judgement.

    Hi Dohhhhhhhh

Got here too late. Was going to put ...
2 shouldn't be a worry. Can't help but feel you are miles ahead with no flush or straight possibilities. There's a lot of psycho babble involving the meta game here and that is good i feel though its easy for me to talk myself out of things by adding an extra "but he thinks that i'm ....so i shuold ....etc".
I feel a check to induce a bet on the river was fairly risk free but i'd have rer all-in as why would a 2 be in in his calling range?
Its funny Dohhhh but i'd have considered what you did on the turn or maybe a small bet to rep a poorish hand especially with all with all that 'past contact' you'd had. Mind after seeing the other comments from better players, i'm not sure if you'd be pleased or not.

Anyway i'll say it first eh......!!!!!

    ...... non standard play....WP m8!!

PS What would you expect him to call w/ pre flop and would that have been different without the sb calling too?
