    You have had a brilliant year Jamie... You have won the  main/mini and finalled on numerous occasions, also winning other mtts.

    If you have now hit a wall, and u are losing those flips that u won for fun before, that is normal. Its mtt variance.

    Sometimes best to take a break and reflect, then come back fighting!

    thanks for the replies guys, think i should clarify though.

    Im not taking a break because of bad beats/had enough/its so unfair/yawn yawn yawn moans.  The reason for my break is because having a full time job, having a wife and a 2yr old daughter to look after and during the year i have golf too are affecting my play and my attitude at the tables thus me making bad plays/decisions and when i do get a bad beat, it affects me more than usual.

    wacko-you may be having a bad ukops but the run up to it has been outstanding, glgl

    greg-i have had a good run since Feb, no question, i am going through a rough patch, no question and i will come back fighting, no question ;)

    I was felling pretty similar a couple of months ago and decided to have just a week off with no poker at all ( no reading about it , no watching it, nothing) and soon after coming back I have had some pretty steady results. Might just be coincedence but I definately felt better for it.

    when one of the best mtt players has a break it gives us mere mortals some hope....
