Quick question,

why are they so poorly paid?

stugglin to see why should we bother!!!

58th left & im in 8th so fingers crossed still to double up

the £1 buyin started with 256 runners tonight so pays down to 30th that is the standard payout structure in most tournaments on sky, not just the DTD ones

Usually the final table gets about 75% of prize pool because people like to win big here.Rather limits the lower pay-out's as structured.

It's a little bit about the money otherwise you wouldn't sit there for 2 hours wading your way through 230 platyers to make the money

It's the very nature of MTTs, all the money is up top, a min-cash is little more than a near-miss consolation, it's standard scross the poker industry, live and online.

You shouldn't be playing hoping to double your money after a couple of hours, you should be playing to try and win first prize. Bad MTT players get min-cashes quite often but almost never seem to win, that means they make a loss over time. Good MTT players will min-cash less often than the bad players, but they have the killer instinct that will bring occasional first places and a tasty profit over time.

As far as i'm concerned the Monday night DTD is about about a bit of friendly competition between the teams and a few individuals who enjoy a bit of banter.
As Tikay rightly points out it is the heart of the community here on Sky.

£5 for 3 or 4 hours entertainment is well worth it for me regardless of the result.

ok guys thanks for the comments

don't want to come across as i'm only interested in the money because i do enjoy them type of MTT's for that buyin. Only saying for xx hours worth of play could the first entry pay out just make it worth it.

apart from the competition the payout for cashing small is just the same as sng 6 handed dym

i cashed in the one last night BTW

    Also, GaryQQQ

I didn't play to double up, i entered to win. But sometimes it just doesn't work out that way

To be fair, I'm pretty sure the 1st prize in DTD2 last night was £69 or £70 which is a pretty good return on £1

£70 is a quality 1st prize for a quid buyin

all i'm sayin is should 30-20 be paid a little more than DYM for gettin through 230 players
