There's a moral to this...

I was playing live poker at Mecca Bingo last night (yes, I tagged along with The Wife, who was actually using a dabber for her evening entertainment) and in the first hand was dealt KK.

I was under the gun, so I raised 3x. Fold, fold, fold, fold. I thought I had just picked up the blinds... and turned over my hand... but - unbeknownst to me - the guy to my left had called. So the flop was dealt with my opponent knowing what I held...

K 5 5

Unreal!

He folded like a cheap tent, and I realised I probably missed my chance to clean up in the very first hand of the game!

Moral of the story: FOCUS!

Oh yeah, and probably don't play poker in a bingo hall.

Would have been sick if he decided to represent quads.  Were you deep stacked at all?  Cash or tourney?

Haha - yeah. It was a £3 buy-in tourney that they have every Monday.

...and no, it wasn't a deep-stack. Started with forty big blinds.

I decided to show my cards, primarily because it was the first hand, and I wanted to show it wasn't just a mad raise.
