the villian liked to bluff and was often calling bets
so was this ok to be played like this and basically a case of a bad beat or should i have played it safe and shoved right away hoping for folds instead of C/R

un lucky to loose with top set however in my opinion i possibly would of c bet the flop rather than check raising, not sure that flop is as dry as you think.

you had 3 pre flop callers and it is possible one of them was playing with 89.... and that 9 on the turn would of scared the c**p out of me.  I may of done my stack here also but once the 9 came i wouldnt of liked it.

Yeah just bet the flop, at these stakes you HAVE to get out of the habit of trying to be tricky/slowplaying blah blah, when you've got it just bet, even more so when you're the preflop raiser and so are kinda expected to bet.

Good raise pre though and well played on getting all the money in as a pretty massive favourite, you just got unlucky.

I dont mind checking the flop here but i hate check raising this.  His stack is so small were he will jam the turn anyway and if he doesnt we will.  By raising we fold out everything that we beat.

at 4nl you should be playing tight aggressive abc poker bet with all your strong hands and fold all weak hands.

    so bet flop imo

but as played you got in in ahead and lost vul
