Happy New Year SkyPoker,

Hope you are looking forward to your first show of 2013, with your first SKYSPORTS BOUNTY HUNTER of the year to play. Was it your first day back at work today?  It is mine. It is also the first day in a few weeks that I did not eat chocolate before noon ;)  Speaking of firsts...

When was the first time you EVER played poker. When and where, and did you have beginners luck!?

    Happy new year all.  I hope you are feeling better today Anna.

    I started playing poker in college in 1989/1990.  Penny ante 5 card draw during breaks.  We couldn't put money on the tables as betting would of got us kicked out so we kept score on notepads, well I say we, I kept score of who owed what to whom.  I managed to keep myself in beer money playing it :)

    Could you show hand number 603864065 from the UKOPS 4 mini please.  I put the flop small blind on a straight draw, I assumed that if he had hit a set or a straight he would of had a hand he would of raised pre with.  My bet was to show I wasn't folding and I wanted to get the stacks in knowing I probably had the best hand and even if my oppp hit a draw then I had outs.  Was my thinking correct and did I get my bet sizing correct on the flop or should I of shoved?

    I would like to know if I was right to call on the flop, not based on this one result, but in long term play, is it profitable?

    I had put the other player on AK KQ? I knew I was behind but had the Q to the straight and any club for the flush, so had about 14 outs.

      When he raised Pre would you of folded or seen a flop, as i never know what to do with these hole cards.

       I think that maybe i should of re-raised on flop, also i know bet on turn was way too low, tho when he only called it i thought that maybe he was on AK,AQ or AJ

    happy new year anna and stu
    my first game was around 5/6 years ago , i got invited to a game at a friends father inlaws ,in a garage which he had converted into a pub including poker table ..... quality
    after a quick tutorial then realising you don`t need the best hand to win a pot i was hooked !!
    we had two games which i somehow won/donked them both. there was no turning back for me ,so i went home and signed upto sky poker and done okay....ish since then.
    i also never got invited back for a rematch at the pub/garage :)

    The first time I played poker was at the Tiberius casino Southampton
    It was a £10 rebuy tournament and I didn't have a clue what I was doing!
    But somehow I made it to the bubble and was dealt AQ I shoved and my opponent turned over kk
    the flop came JJK 
    I got up from my seat ready to leave when the turn came J In my mind I'd lost.
    The river came down J, I thanked my opponent and was halfway to the door before the other players called me back. My ace had counted over his king and I doubled up.
    I finished 8th and won £47.50 but more importantly at the time won a full English breakfast!
    It was a great experience and the only reason I'd played was because the regulars had trawled the casino to get an extra player because with 100 players the house threw in bonuses.

    My new years eve was the best ever.  I stayed in and watched channel 861 with a bottle of blueberry vodka kept in the freezer.  I wasn't playing as I was drinking vodka and I like my bankroll!

    Tonights my first night playing this year, had a few nights off.  I've managed to sat into the main and I may as well play the mini too.  Be rude not to for an extra £9500!

    When I do anything wrong at poker, it's a misclick.......Honest :)

    Hey guys, - Happy new Year!

    can't remember my actual first game of Poker as I played on play money sites on & off for a few years before I actually took the plunge with cash. - then one night after several drinks, I put some $$$ into my account (on another site). I was playing cash for a couple of hours and come the next day I had nothing left in my account!

    shortly after that however I was entered into a $365 guarantee birthday freeroll. and out of 41 players I came 6th winning $26. - that was the start of my love affair with MTTs & SnG's


    On a side note My Wife has decided recently she wants to learn how to play and there's a possibility she might join up and have her first EVER game of poker later on!

    Good evening both and a Happy New Year. I haven't been playing much lately but am rededicating myself. I won a seat to one of the UKOPS by way of an 'All-In' sat, and have done the same to tonights Main Event. I won a sat for last Sundays Primo but had tickets to a night at the pub. I took the laptop to the pub, much to the amusement of friends, only to find a dodgy internet connection. That was a waste of £55 but had a great night which balanced it out. Have a great show and hopefully I'll win the Main and Mini and start the New Year with a bang!

    first time i played poker was around about 1967,i used to go to this small casino in weston super mare, it was known for having a good craps game which i used to play with my wages every friday,there also was a poker game that always went on when all tha other tables had closed,i had won 50 pound on the craps table (at least 500 today) there was a seat open at the poker table so i said to the players i only had fifty pound could i play,they gave me a big smile and said,of course i could.lol  so into the lions den i went.
