Heads Up League

Hi all
Having played poker for a few years now something i have always wondered is would a heads up league structure work?
To be honest i'm sure the answer is no, but if it could be made to work i think it would be great!
Basic idea......
A set number of players register for league , for example 20 players @ £20 registration cost = £400 prize pool.
Each night or every few nights the players compete in a HU match at a given time with the winner claiming 3 points ( similar to football ). Once all players have played each other once the prize pool is split between top 3 finishers.
Im sure many questions will arise such as.....
What if im not available at time of my match?
What if i forget im due to play and miss a match?
I can only suggest registration is for those who could commit to playing every night/every couple of nights.
As i said this is just a basic idea but something i have always thought could potentially be great fun and really interesting, please leave some feedback and ideas as to how/if this could work.
