it was in a £2.30 BH
maybe this reveals why i went for a shove with that KK
a villian with no over card, flush draw or pair just a Q gutshot which even then he probably hopes is not a heart yet still doesn't seem bothered about risking his chips.
did he manage to hack himself into making sure he got the Q?

your line looks so bluffy, you limp in utg and then bet out half pot when its checked to you, its really hard for you to represent a hand like top pair/second pair after limping in, then he picks up more outs on the turn and catches 3rd pair and you bet 3/4 pot if you had a rag ace or k which is what it looks like your representing on the flop your never going to bet the turn this big you would bet half pot or check it back

and on the river he hit his gutshot anyway so hes gotta shove

Don't worry about your opponent's play.

Why are we limping pre-flop out of an 11.5BB stack?

It should be a shove or a fold pre-flop. K7 isn't a great hand to see a flop with, even if we're fairly deep.

5-handed, under the gun, just fold the hand. It's junk. If the table's playing super-tight then we can shove but we can never justifiably limp here.

Never open limp pre with any hand.

Surely youve been told 9000 times before in your posts not to open limp let alone K7 utg lol. If its not suited you fold lol?

I had not intended to imply otherwise. Though I would say "never" is too strong a word, as a rule you should not be open-limping into any pot. You should follow that rule 99% of the time.

There will be exceptional circumstances to take advantage of a player habitually shoving over limpers. However that requires very specific, solid reads on our opponents.

You have 11 BBs and you limp in UTG with K7.
The Queen coming on the river is a lesson for you to never ever do that again.
