Something new at half two...

We have a new tournament format we are going to trial this afternoon. Apologies to those who read this in the evening, etc, but it's something the poker guys here wanted to see in action first hand, etc :)

Look out in the tournament lobby for games at 2.30pm and 3.30pm. Both will be £50 Freerolls.

Let us know what you think in this thread.

    Yep, someone next to me in the office (*cough* Sky Adam *cough*) told me 2.30 and 3pm before promptly moving the proverbial goal posts on me. He's lucky it's Friday. ;)

    A couple of glitches at my table, twice I've had no hole-cards, another player at the table is reporting the same thing in the chatbox.

    This was the third time I had no holecards in the first 7 minutes of play. By this point two other players were also reporting the same problem in the chatbox at my table.

    Hi Gary,

    Thanks a lot for raising this - obviously a bug of some sort which we need to raise. 

    Did anyone else experience anything like this?

    im still playing had no problems here, nobody at any of my tables have complained about no hold cards either.

    Minor technical glitch aside (it started working perfectly well from soon after I posted) I thought the tournament was great fun, it brings an interesting new dynamic to the table, the incentive of winning the button with each pot definitely seems to encourage more play. I enjoyed it and would happily buy into similar tournaments in the future.

    I think it needs another tweak Dave :)

    Interesting concept, although i'm not so sure if peeps would be in such a rush to get them all in pre-flop if it was a paid tournament intead of a freeroll. Will be happy to try it again if you roll them out.

    I think it's a great concept! makes you think about strategy more and hopefully eliminates the bingo element.

    would deffo enter a similar paid structure tourney as long as it was kept to say probably a £1.10 or £2.20 BI

    It's a good idea. First interesting decision I had was do I use up chips with a poor hand trying to hold onto the button? It does make you want to play more hands knowing you would get the button. I'd give a paid tourney a go if it was within my BR. No glitches either.
