Is This ? A Bad Beat ? (please !) £750 Bounty Hunter

one hand only, one tourney only,Sat evening,£750 Bronze Bounty Hunter
as ever, 'one tries' to play one's way into a tourney, accumalate chips, etc etc,
And,very obviously,'we all try to read each other' so,if you make the correct read /call / decision twice, calling a chunk in front, (correct) as I was certain who I was up against, was not super strong, then, calling the same players shove (heads up) for all our chips,(after the turn) correct decision, approx 10,000 total pot,and obviously a bounty either way,(think I was slightly covered) but not the point.Sorry, but, maths and skill,or skill and maths, have to take precendent over luck (or why do we all play) yes, yes,I know about balance, varience,if this was you ? would you shrug your shoulders ,and tell yourself, only poker, pre flop,69% fav, post flop 85% fav,I called the all in (only river to come) as a 94% fav against 6% fav,so I win the coup 94 times out of 100, and lose it 6 times out of 100 ! I must be due,a stella run of 94 %%% chances ! ( I felt sick !)

It's a bad beat, yup, but that's how poker works.

I doubt I've ever played a poker session where I did not suffer a handful of bad beats. The reverse is also true, of course.

Honestly, if it makes you feel better, yup, have a little vent & let off steam, but bad beats are part & parcel of poker, always have been & always will be. You suffer no more or less of them than anyone else mate.

And if they really bother you, then, with respect, maybe you should not play poker, because I can guarantee you one thing - they will never stop. And if that winds you up, you need to find a way to deal with it.

Hope you take all that in the spirit intended - I'm trying to help you. If you head explodes after every bad beat, you need to find as way to combat it mentally.

None of us like bad beats, & we all hurt when they happen, but it's perfectly standard, & won't ever change.

And for every single bad beat, there's a matching suckout, & yet we never hear from the guys who suckout - which includes you, me, & everyone else.

    Just gotta ride them punches.

Factual anecdote,4 Queens Hotel Vegas,1990,first major £5000 dollar buy in held at the venue,(Doyle Brunson was sat at this table, not part of the action) and said he had not seen anything like this, in 40 years playing,it involved Mike Sexton, three handed, Sexton, pocket QQ,an all in,in front of him, Sexton shoves it, final player shoves as well, Sexton shows QQ v 10 10 v 10 10,price that up,(a) happening (b) the QQ getting beat, which it did, flop J 9 2 ,turn 7,river 8,runner runner for a split pot straight, Mike Sexton out, even after the flop Q Q still 97% fav,and runner runner, that had to hurt like ****, Stu Ungar won that tourney (is1990 really twenty eight years ago ?,) time really does 'fly'
