Who won what on Thursday 7th May, Mini UKOPS Day 7

Tikay10Tikay10 Member, Administrator, Moderator Posts: 162,643

Morning.

This thread is for Mini UKOPS only, the non-UKOPS stuff will be on a separate thread.

It's a Bank Holiday today, so pardon me if I rattle through these quickly & briefly.

After that hiccup on Wednesday when Mr Overlay paid a visit, all was well last night with prize pools coming in 58% above Guarantees.

Once again it was the Mini/Main that excelled, coming in at a monstrous £8,840. That is more than double what it made a week ago. The only difference is that this time it was £11 rather than £5.50, so you might say it was identical, but of course it does not ordinarily work like that. Increase the entry fee & you reduce the field size. Always, without exception. Except when there are exceptions.

That £3 Rebuy, which is Reload in disguise, made £3,909. Now that is proper ridic.

£3,000 Mini UKOPS 31 BH £3,285

£500 Mini UKOPS 32 PLO8 £755

£1,000 Mini UKOPS 33 BH £1,344

£5,000 Mini UKOPS 34 BH £8,840

£2,000 Mini UKOPS 35 Rebuy BH £3,909

    neenio, who does well at far higher stakes, was 6th.

    bbMike is one of those annoying players who seem equally adapt at both NLH & the 4 card variants & he has can uncanny knack of sussing out bluffs. 3rd was DutyFree28, & it's his custom to exclusively play PLO8, at which he does extremely well.

    5th was Sunday8pm, who made the Com Post Of The Year yesterday when he claimed he was "a tight player". That's like me describing my style as loosey goosey.

    Two of the favourites to win this must surely have been Essexphil & eon1961, they finished 148th & 151st. Out of 151 entries. Such are the charms of PLO8.

    I noticed churchy18 played it too. I saw a player with the same alias & playing in an identical style to Brian in a PLO8 thing on Party a few days ago, though whether it's the same player I have no idea.

    @bbMike 604000 1 £102.87 + £71.92 Head Prizes 15

    @wildrick 0 2 £61.72 + £19.58 Head Prizes 7

    @Dutyfree28 0 3 £37.75 + £7.25 Head Prizes 2

    @Hal3Way 0 4 £29.63 + £32.84 Head Prizes 11

    @Sunday8pm 0 5 £25.29 + £5.88 Head Prizes 2

    @mushroom1 0 6 £21.29 + £10.55 Head Prizes 4

    @eon1961 0 148 0

    @Essexphil 0 151 0

    cheekydeke does rather well at PLO8 but finished well done the field in that, only to pop up with the win here.

    Our very own Ernest Hemingway was 4th, in the guise of SR23, & I spotted misterpj in 28th.

    @cheekydeke 1344000 1 £161.28 + £32.88 Head Prizes 9

    @rainman215 0 2 £88.03 + £13.62 Head Prizes 6

    £2,000 Mini UKOPS 35 Rebuy BH (£3,909)

    Brains took this, with lewjax & RiverNiall on the lower podium steps.

    Was interested to see Melty run 4th. This was a £3 Rebuy, & here's a guy who plays the highest stakes MTT's here, yet still applies himself in a £3 Rebuy. Respect.

    @Brains 3144000 1 £490.12 + £94.19 Head Prizes 6

    @lewjax79 0 2 £274.47 + £49.89 Head Prizes 11

    Thanks @Tikay10

    It’s variant, singular though! Haven’t put any time into PLO and certainly felt like a fish out of water in the PLO game earlier in the week. I do love PLO8 though, much more comfortable playing for quarters and splits and scoops!

    And a PLO8 BH?! Lovely stuff.

    The win by @bbMike also made a nailbiting climax to the Top of the Plops for mini-UKOPs title as can be seen HERE

    Top plopping Mike!
