If you have a rebuy in the mini, i bet you can say goodbye to the Jackpot..... (not that would ever affect me, but we can but hope)
If this was likely to result in the jackpot being won more frequently, maybe they could charge a rake on the Mini re-entry to cover the increased costs.
I can't believe I actually totally agree with Tony @HAYSIE on this issue. Since re-entries were introduced, I've often thought that one re-entry in the Mini would be a good idea, but especially now that traffic is less, and guarantees are being cut.
2000 chips is a small starting stack, though I know the first few BB levels are low, I would always rather re-enter a bigger prizepool tourney, than wait for one with less than half the guarantee, though I must admit having a re-entry in the mini might affect these smaller Tourneys

I think that you might find that the small stakes players that muti-table might still play the others as well.
Not a fan of re-entrys at all. They are really bad for the game.
Some of you seem to be confusing re-entrys and re-buys they are completely different.
Not long after I joined sky I won the 'Sunday Major Freeroll'. When the game came around I had no knowledge of any of the mtt ops so scoped all the others at my table as soon as the game started. To my dismay the guy to my right was an absolute beast who was up tens of thousands of pounds and clearly a far superior mtt player to myself. Anyway about 4 or 5 hands into the game I get dealt KK in the BB and make a ridiculously sized all in 4 bet after the button and sb both put in small raises. The top player in the small blind calls with AK and I hold. Sb then buys back in and ends up winning most of my chips and I bust just before the money. This felt really shite and a bit unfair as I was at a huge disadvantage and not just in terms of skill. I went back to my 55p and £1.10 sngs and never tried another mtt until months after that.
Don't think anyone can argue re-entrys are bad for recs so therefor they must be bad for poker long term. Sites should definitely be looking to do away with re-entrys not adding more.

I think that you can make too much out of a particular incident, It is very easy to blame a particular player, and the re-entry as you have done. Whereas this particular player could have been replaced by an equally good or better player. Or as I said in one of my earlier comments, you could be moved to a table that was full of good players. Most people get knocked out of tourneys on a daily basis by players that havent re-entered. In fact most players would be unaware of whether or not the player that has knocked them out has re-entered, unless they had seen them do so. To accept your argument as being valid, you would have to accept that no other player could have caused similar damage to your stack.
Had he hit his ace, you would have lost your argument.
I just think that if I was intending to play a couple of £5 games tonight, and busted out of the Mini early, I would jump at the chance of a second bite at the Mini, rather than play the £200 freezeout, which is the next £5 tourney.

The other thing that you might consider is that a player may make a call because a re-entry is available. Sometimes a player would mot make a call, without a re-entry being available. Particularly when you are 4 or 5 hands in to a big tourney. In your example if the player doesnt make the call, you dont double up, and bust out quicker. In which case you could blame the re-entry for your double up.
I think when most of the recreational traffic coming to Sky Poker is crossing from Sky Bet then all regulars should probably prefer re-entries because the recs, looking for there fix, will just go **** it in the casino anyway.
Coming from the online poker era before re-entrys I generally dislike them as a rule although in the mini I feel that they would work as it is generally the biggest small mtt on sky with a good prizepool and anything that boosts that should be good and also unlike the £100 and £33 it is within the price range to rebuy for recs not just regs so shouldnt end up top heavy with good players. I was a regular visitor to vegas and concentrated on the venetian deepstack series and loved the format and good balance of players and recs and low rolled players had a good chance of a major cash (often 800plus players during wsop). Once they introduced re-entry the whole game changed to a rebuy frenzy with the bankrolled and skilled players just gambling with multiple bullets to try and get a big stack early. So on several occasions I bust out early due to bad beats by hands that would have been folded in a non re-entry format ie all in pre with AA level 1 and losing to J7 suited and not being rolled high enough to re-enter and frequently on tilt for the remainder of the day and playing too tight as the trip progressed so yes not a fan of re-entry tourneys but in the 5 quid mini yeah go for it

I am in the Mini now and Maxally is looking over at me with 215 chips behind asking when the re-entry period ends.

Yes, and a limit of one re-entry would cut the nonsense out.
