Some years ago there was a post on this forum by @MarkESmith who was bemoaning the Spin Up tables on Sky Poker.

My slightly lame reply to him at the time was:

"I hope you get dealt Slang Kings or if not, at least a pair of Fiery Jacks.
Sleep well and don’t have a Lie Dream of a Casino Soul.
I pray that the dealer isn’t party to a Kicker Conspiracy and that your opponents aren’t Breaking the Rules."

This thread really is veering in all sorts of unexpected directions. It's like a car with no steering.

I think the difficulty for those of us who love The Fall is that it is impossible to explain our obsession to anyone else. The only analagy I can think of is people who like the paintings of Jackson Pollock see great art, but those who don't just see random sqiggles of paint.

If you had asked me before the pandemic which artist I would listen to the most in order to stay sane, my answer would have been "David Bowie". But it isn't. In reality, I only listen to The Fall now - on the basis that Mark E Smith makes as much sense as anyone else and why listen to any other band who can't possibly be as good.

For anyone who hasn't read it yet I can recommend "The Big Midweek" by Steve Hanley.

At the risk of Repetition Repetition Repetition!

Never knew what to expect with mark live and the last time I saw them he really was a shambles but his albums and singles are without comparison, he will be missed by his 20000 fans who can't be wrong : ).

Talking of "shambles", (see what I did there?) a recent photo of Pete Doherty emerged yesterday.
